Sixers turned down Jones for Korver deal

Quote:
Another player being shopped was Toronto's Fred Jones, who still stood of a chance of being sent to Portland for Juan Dixon. Philadelphia was another possible destination for Jones, though the 76ers were not willing to give up the one player the Raptors and several other teams coveted: Kyle Korver.

Sounds like BC might've tried to lowball Billy King.

Re: Sixers turned down Jones for Korver deal

Korver is like a Mo Pete in my mind, but Mo Pete is better, he's basically a three point shooter. I think were better off with Dixon, because Dixon a great three point shooter, and he can drive to the net, and he's decent on the defensive side. I think Colangelo did the wise choice.

Korver can ball. His highlights against the Knicks yesterday are my proof. That would of been a crazy trade for us if we coulda pulled that one off

Re: Sixers turned down Jones for Korver deal

I wouldn't trade Peterson for Korver. I think Mo is a better defender, is quicker, is better on the break, and does a better job of creating his own shot.

But Jones for Korver? Yeah, that would've been a cherry deal.

I as well rather have Mo then Korver, better defender and quicker.

Re: Sixers turned down Jones for Korver deal

I would laugh if Billy King would trade Korver for Jones.
That would be a steal. Just look at last night when Korver exploded with all those 3 pointers.
So, yea, no.... it would not happen. And it didn't.

Re: Sixers turned down Jones for Korver deal

i am taking mo pete over korver in a second. korver is 6-8 white boy with an amazing stroke from behind the arc, with great free throw shooting ability, thats it. mo may not have the same 3 point shooting ability, but he brings solid defence, has a much better ability to drive and can run the court much better than korver.

think about a tall steve kerr. one dimensional, defensively a liability.

that said, i am all in on jones for korver, don't think that that was everything involved in that deal though. korver would be awesome to bring off the bench to help stretch the defence.

Lol of course the sixers turned it down, that would have basically been a steal for us if the trade happened.
