Re: NBA.com Power Rankings
Don't understand putting us ahead of the Cavs, who have owned us this season.
Just noticed the Nuggets were under .500. How did that happen?

Re: NBA.com Power Rankings
Certainly the Cavs should have moved ahead of us. We can't even hope to catch them in the standings, but they could challenge DET for first overall.

They have three more wins...I don't think it is entirely out of the question.
Still the sexy pick right now

Re: NBA.com Power Rankings
Four back in the loss column to CLE is a big deal with only 20 to play. Plus they have a game in hand.
If Raps go 12-8 over the last 20 that gives them a 45-37 record.
CLE then has to go 9-12 over their last 21 to reach that mark. Not going to happen. They are playing better of late having just beat the Rockets and Pistons and barely losing to the Mavs. And if you look at their schedule they have 15 games left that you have to classify as 'should win'.
So the odds are that CLE goes at least 12-9 down the stretch forcing the Raps to go 15-5 or better. Highly unlikely given the way the Raps are playing right now.

Re: NBA.com Power Rankings
Washington is catchable IMO. Although they have 2 games in hand. Their schedule looks a little tougher with back to back games against the same team a couple of times which are difficult to sweep. I see about 11 'should win' games there and could see them going 11-11 down the stretch with their horrible D.
I would give the Raps a 30% chance of catching the Wiz. As opposed to 5% of catching the Cavs.

Re: NBA.com Power Rankings
76ers are being stupid by winning all these games there playing themselves out of the Ogden, Noah, & Durant sweepstakes

They're being stupid for not losing on purpose? What are they supposed to do, just sit down and let their opponents dunk all over them?

Re: NBA.com Power Rankings
heading into the playoffs, i'm starting to really worry about home-court advantage. i don't trust our team. i think we're at that same early stage of perceived success that leads you to read your press clippings (good and bad) and ultimately ride the wave. if true, home-court would be crucial. i think the third-best record in the conference is still highly attainable, but fourth-best is priority #1. i desperately want that placement.
i think it would be a lot more difficult- a lot- for our team to survive four of seven on the road. i also wonder about the illusion of the seedings: we're officially fourth (or higher) if we win the division, but could lose home-court to any team below us with a better record. what's the point of being fourth, then? why not just give us a playoff spot and rank us accordingly? i understand the advantage of playing the fifth seed as opposed to the first or second, but is that all it is?
i think the people in canada would be mighty disappointed to learn that we could lose home-court to a team technically 'below' us in the standings. i want to make that point moot, though.
peace
