I think that's where the predicament lies. I believe Jose is worth more then 4.5 million, and just because he is the back-up point guard doesn't mean he should be forced to take that size contract. He's going to get more then that, either from the Raptors or someone else. Now with TJ making 8 million a year, and Jose needing a contract, what do the Raptors do? It would be nice to keep both, but that would be a rather expensive point guard situation. Is it possible to keep both while still filling in the rest of the team? If not, maybe trading one of them isn't a bad idea.

Re: Raptors fidelity?

Bottomline, we're in excellent shape with our players. We have the ability to resign them all and Mo Pete is the only rotation (or is he even in it) player coming up on free agency.

The situation with Jose is simple. We sit him down during the off-season and offer him a reasonable extension. Back-up point guards in the free agent market never get any more then MLE money, like 5 mill. If he decides he dosen't want to be resonable and demands more we trade him for a good wing (Drool over Childress), and bring over Roko. I think he'll end up staying, but with the playoffs coming up I'd rather not think about contract, and just be a fan hey. Besides Bryan knows what to do, and to even think that he won't make the right call is delusional.
\A bit OT, but i saw childress on sportscenter. It looks like hes been hitting the weights pretty hard. He gets off the ground real quick and looks much more, .....assertive. He has a great jump shot and seems much better than early in his career.
