Bargnani has appendectomy
Doug Smith reports that Bargnani may miss significant time after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. He could be out for close to a month.

Re: Bargnani has appendectomy
Wow that is a killer blow.
Raps lose their difference maker and the ability to take a big negative at the C spot and turn it into a positive mismatch. Rasho is going to have to step up big now and play major minutes. Hump and possibly Slokar as well.
Not sure how much core muscle has to get cut for an appendectomy. Problem with that type of surgery is that its an 'emergency' operation without the time to get a specific sports surgeon or look at alternative techniques such as laser surgery or whatever. I think some nba guys have come back in just a couple of weeks from this though.
Not good. Raps should still stumble to the Atlantic title though. No shot at 3rd anymore.

Re: Bargnani has appendectomy
This doesn't sound good at all. Usually takes a month for him to be back to normal, but he'll probably be out of game shape for awhile. Bosh and Ford are going to need to step up big now.

Re: Bargnani has appendectomy
My buddy had to have this done during our season HS season. He missed one month and was playing in less than five weeks.
Damn that sucks though.
Why do bad things happen to good players?

Damn.
Like I said with Parker and Calderon, though, better now than in May.

Re: Bargnani has appendectomy
when smitch needed a fast 6 - 9 points he would put in bargs particularily when the raps fell behind in the first quarter as they often do with tj running the point an not distributing the ball.
now the raps will have to play a lot better in the first quarter an make their shots if they want to compete.
the pressure is on the starting five to produce in the first quarter with no bargs to come in an save their butts.

Re: Bargnani has appendectomy
this is not a terribly big deal imo. he had the surgery today- i'll give him two weeks, maybe two and a half, and he'll be back at full speed.
this isn't really an injury, more like recovery time, and the only thing that needs to 'recover' is the site of the scar on the abdomen. once the cut comes together and the scar's allowed to form, it's just a matter of playing through the pain.
i don't think he'll be able to do any major stretches for two weeks but as soon as he can, i'm sure he'll be back on the floor. maybe even before then. these worst-case scenarios (like 6 weeks) are more for athletes who want time off (like pitchers of juan guzman's ilk), not those who need it.
today's march 21. i bet he's ready come april 6. i'll put my crystal ball back in the closet now, the thing's been collecting dust for months.
peace

Juan Guzman, what an incdredible name to throw out.
