Re: Mitchell walking?
Mitchell has earned some bargaining power through this season. He's going to get a decent-sized contract, probably from the Raps. Thankfully the MLSE has money to spend and coach salaries don't effect the cap.

Re: Mitchell walking?
unless the Raps can get a top notch coach i dont see why they would let Mitchell go to the Bobcats.

questions needed to be answered
Is Iavorni going to be a top-notch coach?
Is Iavorni going to be a better coach than Smitch?
I feel a lot less compelled to argue either stance because we have BC at the helm.

Re: Mitchell walking?
Sam is now gonna get the boys to get Home court, then I'm sure Bc has probebly made it clear just a rnd 1 exit may not be good enough to warrent a extension unless eries goes to 7 and we lose a tight one.not be good enougfh

Re: Mitchell walking?
He will go where ever he gets the most money. Pretty simple.

People don't give him the credit he deserves . He helped build what we have now in Toronto.
The only way Smitch leaves the Raps is if it isn't his choice to make.

Including Bryan Colangelo. BC has done great, but he ain't perfect either.

If BC is dumb enough to let a small sample of one playoff round dictate how he bases his view of the franchise in the future and how it will be a run, then he is an absolute idiot.
Thankfully, I would imagine that BC has some smarts moreso then some posters, and does not use the results of one playoff round to determine how he plays his hand in the future.

Re: Mitchell walking?
Do you realize what this would do to the player's level of happiness if the Coach that just took them to the playoffs doesn't get signed.
I mean, look at the team when they play, they're having fun and this because of Sam's coaching style and plan. Take him away, take that away and bring in a new coach and system, the players won't be happy. This includes Chris Bosh who has a good relationship with Sam Mitchell (as do all the other players seemingly).
The team needs to sign him to a 2-3 year extension. If at any point the team does worse than the year before, then it can be justified to bring in another coach.
There needs to be justification to not resign Sam Mitchell. But here is a coach that is liked by his players and has brought a team from being supposedly a lottery headed team to possible home court advantage and the third seed.

besides the signing of Fred Jones, which in my mind was "righted" by the subsequent trade for Dixon, BC has been perfect with respect to the personnel on the court and on the sidelines that he has brought in/got rid of.

Re: Mitchell walking?
Smitch ain't Larry Brown, I'm sure as much as he needs to look out for himself, he'd like to see through what he started.
