Bring back Bonner?
The fire starter, the party crasher, the panty dropper, the man, the myth, the legend, the Red Rocket Matt Bonner is a free agent this summer.
With Garbo, Bargs, and Hump on the roster, Bon-Bon is a bit redundant, but how could anyone complain about having him back?

Re: Bring back Bonner?
He wont be getting any minutes here. He is a good asset to stretch the defense, but Bosh isn't solid enough to be the only big man in the middle while another big man floats on the perim. Especially because we don't get any rebounding help from our wings.

Re: Bring back Bonner?
I would love to have him back, but he plays the same way as Luke Jackson.

Re: Bring back Bonner?
As much as I like what Bonner does, especially knowing that Sam wouldn't be able to give him so many minutes this time around, I think Slokar will do just fine at a much cheaper price.

Mao, good to see you bud!
I agree that Slokar probably does something very similar for the team.
Still, I wouldn't complain if Matty was added cheap.

Re: Bring back Bonner?
I always thought that Garbo was going to be a temporary piece that the Raps end up trading to a contender like the Spurs, but it looks like BC wants him here for the full 3 years.
Bonner could become a very similar player to Garbo with experience. People forget that Bonner was only a 2 year player and was learning the nba game. His time with the Spurs should increase his bball IQ and defense tremendously. If we plan to move Garbo then bringing in Bonner makes sense.

Re: Bring back Bonner?
perhaps, but Bonner did not have Garbo's quickness on D. Garbo can almost guard the 2 and his IQ is not comparable to Bonner, sure Bonner will learn, but I don't think he will become garbo. Prolly a better 3 but I don't think he will ever have a IQ that high.

Re: Bring back Bonner?
Just imagine if the Spurs win the championship this year. Even though he rode the bench the whole way, he got to experience something nobody else has experienced for the Raptors other then Rasho. Who even knows if Garbo will be playing his best because of his injury. That's one injury that takes a lot of time and effort to recover from. If Garbo cant play, I think Bonner's the man.

Re: Bring back Bonner?
Honestly, I'd rather have a 50 year old Charles Oakley back over Bonner
an undersized, unathletic, one dimensional Power Forward that is perimeter orientated is not something this team needs.
I think Bonners popularity in Toronto far exceeded his actual contributions....nice guy though

Re: Bring back Bonner?
Bonner is to slow , Garbo can play 3 positions because he is more agile in better shape.
Bonner needs to shed some wieght to earn more PT and get a chance to play perhaps SF I just dont see it.
