questions about Chris Bosh?
We might draft Brandon Wright, this year, and he gets compared alot to Chris Bosh so i got a couple of question about him.
1. How often does he play center for the raps?
2. When he first came into the league, did he have a polished mid-range game, or it develop as the years went on?
3. Being 210 his rookie year, was there alot of match-up problems?
4.IS he a legit 6'10, or is he closer to 6'9

Re: questions about Chris Bosh?
1. He played center a lot until this year when we got Rasho Nesterovic. In his first year he actually started a series of games officially at center, but the year after that he would start at PF next to the likes of Araujo, Pape Sow, and Loren Woods. Which usually means he plays center when the Raptors go small once either one of the 3 bigs get into foul trouble, something that always happens.

this is a boxscore of a game in april during Bosh's rookie season. As you see he started at centre next to Donyell Marshall
2. When Bosh came in the league he could shoot 15 footers without awkwardness. But his jumper improved a lot this season where he now can shoot all the way out to the 3 point line.
3. Eventhough Bosh is thin, he always had good lower body strength. He could hold his ground against most PFs in the league. If you look at Bosh now, he isn't that much bigger than when he was a rookie. I would say he is 230 at the most right now. Bosh actually said in his own website that people always under estimate his power and weight does not equate to power in his opinion.
according to his pre-draft measurements

Bosh is actually over 6-11 with shoes on. 6-10 1/4 without shoes. Bosh is about the same size as Lamarcus Aldrige of Portland.

Re: questions about Chris Bosh?
Just because Wright is compared to Bosh doesn't mean that he's exactly like Bosh and had the exactly same strengths/weaknesses. Thing more big concept. It probably means that Wright is very quick/athletic, able to knock down a jumper, pretty decent rebounder, and has a similar build. Wright doesn't really have to worry about playing the 5 with Shelden around so I wouldn't worry about that too much. Bosh can still get pushed around on the defensive end by stronger PF's (e.g. Rasheed Wallace).

Re: questions about Chris Bosh?
Are you hoping your Atlanta Hawks administration decides to pick Wright though? I mean, with all the talk of picking yet another forward. I mean, you guys won't even have a draft pick next year so you can't pick a serviceable PG in next years draft unless you trade into the 1st sound.
If you're just wondering for the sake of wondeirng how Brandan Wright would play, that makes sense. When Bosh came into the league, everyone said he needed to bulk up. Brandan Wright needs to as well, and moreso than him, Kevin Durant needs to bulk up but thats a seperate story. Bosh being forced to play C early was problamatic because he was weaker and more lightweight when he first entered the league, but he did manage to hold his own quite often, and learnt how to play the position pretty well in the process. Brandan Wright, however, is probably less capable of playing the C position than Bosh was when he entered the league.

Re: questions about Chris Bosh?
With Wright being 6-9, I don't think the Hawks would be drafting him. But then again, you never know about Billy Knight.
By the way, for those that don't read Bill Simmons, check out Billy Knight's bio on the Hawks website.
http://www.nba.com/hawks/general_inf...night_Bio.html
My favorite part was "and acquired free agents Craig "Speedy" Claxton and Lorenzen Wright to fill necessary positions on the Atlanta roster. Claxton gives the Hawks the quality point guard the club has lacked"
the only hole Claxton filled was the disabled list.
And this,
"By drafting outstanding talents in Marvin Williams and Salim Stoudamire a year ago..........Knight has transformed the Hawks by building through the draft and complementing the lineup through free agency and trades."
I don't see how anyone can say that with a straight face with Deron Williams and Chris Paul still healthy and playing well.
What a load of crap, if I were a Hawks fan, I would be flooding their site with angry emails.

Re: questions about Chris Bosh?
First year he played center a lot. He really didnt show case his midrange game that much his first year, he had range but he rarely got the chance to show it. I remember him hitting a 3 to send the game overtime against the Rockets. He has really come along way since then, terrific work ethic. I'd say he is a legit 6'10
