Since Mo was our player, can we still talk to him? Can teams talk to their just expired players?

A lot of people seem to be under the impression a S&T may be done at the draft. I don't see how this is possible if one has to wait until what July 1st to start talking to FA's

Does anyone know the situation? Can anyone think of a precedent?

Sign and trades can not be done at the draft. I do believe that you are correct about the July 1st date.

no, i don't see how they can be done at the draft. teams are allowed to make trades at the draft, but s&t's involve free agents. free agents can't be traded until the moratorium passes and the cap is set.

... the moratorium this year ends on july 10. signings begin on the 11th. see coon.

The reason I asked was because S&Ts would involve one's own FA as opposed to another's.

Like in hockey, you have access to your own UFA's indefinitely. I suppose that is not the case with NBA UFAs.
