Good thing it was the sixth pick then, eh?
The bigger point is that teams pick who they want. Players can hold out but that makes them crybabies. The players' freedom comes after their rookie contract when they can be UFAs. Then they get to pick. Yi should shut the **** up and play for the Bucks.

I must admit that with Yi going there the Bucks would rise on my fav teams list and I would keep an eye on them more often but that has much more to do with the Yi and CV tandem than the team itself.
Trade Yi!!!! I want to see him on GS or Phx even Atlanta would of been better. Without having to break up the Bosh and Gnani duo, if we could add Yi, I would give up Ford any day, that would essentially be CV for Yi, I can live with that.

Wait, so the Bucks aren't a good fit because they already have CV and Bogut, but the Raptors would be fine with Bargs and Bosh? That's the most ridiculous thing I've read in a while.
This whole thing reeks of Chinese insecurity and the overcompensating power trip.
- If you want to draft Yi you have to come and meet with us. We won't go anywhere to work out with you.
- Yi will only go to a team which has significant marketing opportunities
- blah, blah, blah.
If an American college player or European player played the draft like Yi and his handlers, everyone would be up in arms; but because they're Chinese and Stern has a hard-on for China everyone is supposed to be okay with it. "It's a culture thing". BS, Mao knows China and Mao knows that this has zero to do with culture and everything to do with power-tripping.

nan, Yi does not make any sense in TO either, that's just my homerism speaking, I would like to see him here, but he wouldn't be a good fit just as much as he is not a good fit in Mil. I think it is slightly better because we don't have a true big C that will start at the 5. We have been toying with our rotation all year and with Yi here that would continue, but no he would still not be a good fit here.

I see your point there, but I still don't think he (or his agents) are right for asking for a trade (assuming they actually did). He's a rookie, he shouldn't have a say, and should just be happy he's in the league.

An emphatic BOOYA! is nice and all...but when you consider that the Bucks gm's father coached Yi in China, its not like they were blind to what he could do.

Re: Chinese government won't allow Yi Jianlain to play in Milwaukee?
i caught some of his summerleague play on raptorsnbatv. he looked REALLY good. reminded me a lot of charlie. the guy has the natural gift. so fluid. he's a lot better than i thought from scouting reports and online clips. his skill to size ration, especially when one considers his athleticism and coordination, is just amazing.
it stinks that he's playing a francis. but the kid has serious star potential.
