Juan's role solidified?

Having added Kapono and Delfino and even Juke Jackson, it is going to be very difficult for Dixon to find minutes. It just is.

That said, I think there's still reason to have dixon on the roster. He's our third guard and he's a veteran gamer. He's backup. He's not a point guard but he can cover that position if needed. He can be used in end of game situations to provide extra shooting prowess.

He may not fill the role of Dmart but he's a specialist and he can be used.

Re: Juan's role solidified?

I hope we manage to bring in an alternative 3rd stringer at the point and while were at it ship Dixon out. Send him to Barca for Ukic I know that can't happen but would't it be sweet!!!

Dixon should be gone as there will not be any shots for Mr Inconsistent

Re: Juan's role solidified?

I'm not sold on Juan. He looked pretty shaky when he joined the team and as the weeks went on he was up and down like a fiddler's elbow. Towards the end of the season and into the playoffs he was atrocious. With all the competition for minutes I don't see him having an impact this season.

Re: Juan's role solidified?

Not to mention, with the addition of Kapono (another poor man2man defender) the keeping of the undersized Dixon would only compound our problems.

Re: Juan's role solidified?

dixon did have his moments. and he played strongly enough to displace mo. after hurting his hand, however, he was stinky at the end of the season and in the playoffs. he also didn't seem able to gain sam's confidence as a third-string pointguard--that would have helped a lot. without being able to spot PG, jaun might find himself with a limited to nonexistent role. parker is (so far) a lock, delfino will be a big piece of the rotation, kapono fills the shooter need even if he's not a so called shooting guard. luke jackson's there, too. hm... if sam only uses parker, delfino, and juan at the two, dixon could still squeeze in a few minutes. when he's 'on', he can help a lot.

i don't think the team feels wedded to him. we could even see a disgruntled dixon before the end of the season but we do need to have guys that have ending contracts for next summer and he's one of them. he has an ability to contribute. will he be allowed to is more the question.

Re: Juan's role solidified?

I still like Juan, he is better than how he finished the year. I believe the wrist injury really hurt his shot and that he is good value for what he gets paid.
