Re: Gerald Green on the block?
ALERT: HOMER TRADE
Sending Calderon and trash for Perkins, Green and Rondo is a joke right?
This just a Realgm.com forum parody right?
Rondo = Calderon
Green > Graham
Perkins >> Humphries/Dixon
Change Calderon to Bargnani and Ainge considers it. (And no, I wouldn't do it).

Re: Gerald Green on the block?
Hate is such a strong word. I dislike folks that want to add dunkers, especially at the expense of a real piece. What is Green except for a Dunk Contest Contestant? I mean, really. You're kidding right?
This brings up arguments of substance over style. I won't go beyond that because we could go to politically incorrect places.

You could say the same thing about Tracy Mcgrady 2 years into the league. I wouldn't group Gerald Green into that dunkers only category. The kid has shown a lot of potential in his 2 years and will likely be a 20+ ppg scorer in this league sometime down the road.

ALERT...what exactly has rondo shown that is making everyone anoint him the next coming? he can't shoot, from three or the field or the free throw line and he was on an AWFUL team last year. Calderon >> than Rondo...his assist to turnover ratio is miles ahead of rondo's, he can shoot...and his team won the division.
By the way, I really like rondo, but Calderon has the chance to be something special and trading him for the worst team in the league's spare parts is not particularly appealing to me.
I don't even care about the other players in the deal. I don't like Green and don't think he'll pan out.

We all know Calderon's the better player, but value-wise they're equal. Rondo's 5 years younger than Calderon is just a small level behind him. He'll turn out to be a defensive monster soon.

Yeah, sounds like you love Rondo Anyways, Rondo, Green, and Perkins aren't really spare parts. Graham, Dixon, and Humphries are spare parts. If you don't understand this, I can't help you.

You don't like Green so you just turn it down? Glad you're not our GM.

Wasn't T-Mac renowned for his defence before he was ever talked about as a superstar scorer?
As for the trade, I just wouldn't do it on either side. The celtics lack bigmen, and the Raptors would be better off with Calderon for now I think. If Green had shown more, then we'd be talking (and I'd hazard the Raptors would have to swap Humphries with Nesterovic), but as of now he's strictly an immature athlete.

How well is the Knicks Starters vs NBA Team Starters? 60%? 50%? 40%? or are we waiting to see by being optimistic because we have a new additional player in the Starting lineup that we assume Stat sheet record says he is better with this Knick roster than the guy he is replacing?

Re: Gerald Green on the block?
I just don't think Green's all that great and RR and KP are too valuable to be moved in a package like this.
Get Real.

Re: Gerald Green on the block?
and to people telling me to get real (come on, thats my phrase).. what do you mean? We give up the best player in the deal it's not like its that crazy of a deal.
Some people say its in favour of Boston, others say its in favour of us, so I don't see how it's that bad of an idea.
And seifer, I stopped reading your nonsense after you said they would MAYBE trade Gerald Green for Jose.. LOL.. They would trade Gerald Green for just about anyone they can get right now, have you seen him stinking it up in summer league? Didn't think so... I don't get why people are so high on him, He hasn't proved anything but that hes a sick dunker.

Really now? lol. Just anyone eh?
I don't know where you got your trade rumors from, but last time I checked Danny Ainge wasn't even shopping Green around unless a major player was included in the deal. Ainge has already backed off of trades because he was unwilling to let go of Green, It's not about what you think that makes a deal absurd, it's what Ainge thinks.
I'll comment on his summer league performance when GMs decide to give up on talented 21 years old coming off a decent season (for a 20 year old) after a mediocre summer league performance. It has not happened yet on my watch. For that matter, I haven't seen the Knicks go "Hail, it's our savior" on Nate Robinson either. "It's Summer League", keep that phrase in mind, please.
And to include Rondo and Perkins in the deal just makes this even more one sided. Really, get real.
