Jason Kapono will play for the Team USA Select team that will help prepare the mens national team for competition. Some other young players that will be on that team are Andre Iguodala, Devin Harris, Channing Frye, Aaron Brooks and Jeff Green.

Jay Triano, Raptors assistant coach, will serve as assistant to head coach PJ Carlesimo. Triano has a lot of international experience but seeing him coaching a USA team will be eerie.

Aaron Brooks? Jeff Green? Why practice against a sub par team? I guess the higher profile players don't want to have anything to do with the USA teams? Sounds to me like they are better off scrimaging against themself!?!??

Well these are guys taking time out of their summer to help a team that they weren't invited to try out for... unpaid, too. It is a gift to their country's national team. Probably the best young guys they could get.

Harris/Brooks
Ellis/Green
Iguodala/Kapono
Aldridge/Lee
Jefferson/Frye

That would be an above-average NBA team, IMO.

These guys will play a diferent system then Team USA is. So it will be better then just having intra-squad games....not to mention Kapono gets to go against some great players, and that is always a good thing.
