on ball defense Ford isn't bad, but he sucks in terms of team D, gambles a lot, has a hard time going through screen when chasing his player around off the ball and can't do **** against the pick n roll.

Wow! I never said that our point guard tandem was all world defence. They are solid, period. They are above the average, yes they both have weaknesses, but they are not scrubs.

Lets stop the hate, unless someone says something that is crazy, les agrre that we are not screwed on "D" at the point position.

Well if you look at the point guards that he is beeter then, I would have to say he is in the top 50% You bash and bash, but don't realy support what you say.

Ford is a better defender then guys like Luke Ridnour, Jameer Nelson, Mike Bibby, Speedy Claxon, Steve Blake, Damon Stoudamire, Jason Williams, Mo Williams, and Jason Terry.

I will agree that he may gamble more then I would like. His team that knows that is how he plays, therefor they play to back him up. Tj does as good of a job as any at keeping him man infront of him, yes he gets posted up by bigger point guards that have that game, but there are less of them then there are the 6'1" quick ones.

At times this season Ford showed a great deal of defensive tenacity, pestering the hell out of opposing guards and coming up with rips and deflections. I think he needs a support system behind him to make sure if his assignment does try to blow past him, there will be ramifications in the paint and somebody willing to switch. I don't think TJ can keep that kind of effort up for an entire game but the more we see of it this year the better; we just have to have guys providing help. But right now Jose is the better defender because he is more consistent.

Neither of the Raps PG's are all that stellar on D. However, D is mostly effort and I appreciate the effort Jose puts in. That's not to say I think TJ is coasting, just that Jose's efforts are more visible.
