Hmmm.... trading 2 backups for a possible stud sounds like a deal to me. Calderon is a free agent at the end of the season anyways, so who knows if we'll be able to keep him. Dixon and Delfino could share time as backup, and Ford can start playing more minutes to pickup the slack. The only reason Ford isn't a 40 min man is because Calderon needs minutes.

I think Yi has a ton of potential, and would be a rare opportunity to add a guy like that. Bargs, Bosh and Yi could a multi-year dynasty, and a rare opportunity to build a dynasty like that in today's NBA with salary caps, etc.

Re: Yi Jianlain's agent short lists six trade destinations (Toronto included)

It would take time for Yi to adjust o the nba style and to our system, Bargs took some time and making a deal like this would mean more new faces in camp and most likely a slow start out of the gate.
Thias year we cannot at all afford a slow start as the East is heavy now tnot many walkover teams now.

More time experimenting between who is better to play C Yi or Bargs the other shift to SF.

Calderon is a RESTRICTED free agent after next season. So the Raptors would be able to match any offer he got.

Somebody here mentioned that Calderon said he'd rather play in europe than for another team in the NBA... I hope that's true!

Re: Yi Jianlain's agent short lists six trade destinations (Toronto included)

Why are we the only forum who is discussing this???

I see nothing on the Buck's forum, nothing in the general forum, nothing in the FA trade rumors...

It's been a couple of days too.

I thought it would be something big... anyways....

Clearly teams like Toronto and Golden State are thrown in because of large Asian populations from which Yi can find a girlfriend or future wife (no joke--that is a major issue), whereas Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago have the added bonus of being storied NBA cities.

I personally don't feel he is the right fit for this team, and it would probably cost too much to get him, but you can't look past a rare talent like him.
last i checked yi has a gf, this model in china
