I know it means little so many months after the fact, but for what it's worth, I honestly felt that the Raps would lose to the Nets in the 1st round. I just knew that Jason Kidd would light up the Raps' poor defense. I also knew that Bosh would have a hard time adjusting. However, I think you may be underestimating the potential of this team. A lot of people think that Kapono adds nothing to our inside game. While technically it's true, Kapono's lethal outside shooting will help out the big men immensely. Look at how Bargnani created opportunities by nailing his outside shots. I am extremely confident that this team will be much improved next season. Jizzy, would you not agree that Bargnani should've gotten more touches in the series? I recall game 5 where AB came out on fire, and then the team went away from him, and we almost blew a demanding lead. With AB getting more minutes and touches, I wouldn't be so confident that NJ would beat TOR again.

As for the off-season grades... 1) they don't mean anything to me (too much guessing and rationaliztions)m 2) I suppose the A- is a little high, for we didn't have a 1st rounder this draft, and we lost Mo Pete.

I think a lot of it came down to experience; the Nets had been there before, while the Raptors hadn't. If we have a repeat this year, then we'll see how it plays out. It does bother me though that you consistently fail to mention the regular season, and only bring up the playoffs.

The regular season doesn't mean ****. Didn't the Mavs teach you that this past season?

Yes, I can honestly say I was afraid of Game 6 when Bargs began shooting well. Rasho is useless. Bargs should have started at Center and made Mikki Moore come out to the three point line. Bad coaching on Sam Mitchell's part and his inability to adjust.

I like the Raps as regular season team and I'm not going to lie, Bargs seems like a guy who could klll any team on any given night but I just don't think they addressed there Center position. Still no interior defense or rebounding.

Re: SI Grades Raps Off-Season: A-

Bargnani wasn't 100% at the beginning of the series. He came back from an appendectomy in like 3 weeks where there are some players that take up to 1.5-2 months to recover. If he wasn't injure, chances are he would've started every game in that series, but it was clear that he was rusty in games 1-3.

I honestly don't know where you're getting all that confidence from though Jizzy. The Raptors were inexperienced last year and the series still came down to 1 final play. You have to be kidding yourself if you think the Nets are the favorites had the series went back to TO for game 7. The Nets will have Kristic back this year, the Raptors will be more experienced. If the team meets in the playoffs it will still likely be a close one. For you to talk like as if the Nets will crush the Raptors is just blind homerism imo. Frankly speaking, even if the Raptors beat the Nets in next years playoffs, the team will still, and by that I mean still have lots and lots of room to improve upon in order to be actual contenders in the league.

The series for the Raptors came down to one final play. It was Game 6 and there was no Game 7. Why would it be a surprise to see the Nets win a Game 7 in Tor.? Rememeber, although the Nets didn't sweep, if that Boki three had gone down in game 2 to win the ball game, you'd be talking about a possible sweep in the Nets favor. Neither of our scenarios happened however.

I'm not saying the Nets will crush the Raptors but after last seasons playoffs and all of the insults exchanged, it feels good to be right. Would have felt better if half of our fanbase didn't ***** out from the bet but whatever.

Re: SI Grades Raps Off-Season: A-

If Rob Babcock made these same moves, the guy that wrote this article would of probably given us a "D" or "F", but since it's Bryan Collangelo he gets the benefit of the doubt. It was a solid offseason considering the limited capspace we had

Jizzy, if ur comparing the Nets to a team that was previously lotto bound for several years then what can I say. If you feel really good about beating our team of mainly playoff virgins then good for you.

I think the Nets are still better built to win in the Playoffs, mainly because of sure fire Hall of Famer in JKidd, he alone can will the Nets to a series win against the Raps.......but as soon as he's done so are the Nets

Let Jizzy gloat all he wants, because that is all he will be getting. This was only the start for the raptors, the nets is going nowhere, they pretty much went as far as they ever will. That will be their only victory for the years to come.

The raps are up and coming, what are the nets?

Up where? And for how long?

How old is your #1? How old is our #1?

How deep are the Nets? How deep are the Raps? What will be the improvement curve for the Nets? How much have they improved in the past 3 years? Ditto for the Raps.
