Re: Marion want to be traded
Yeah, if we are going to overpay a player, AK seems like a better choice than Marion.

Re: Marion want to be traded
Marion > AK
Marion rebounds much better than AK and shoots the 3 much better as well.
AP is our defensive stopper, I'd much rather overpay Marion than AK.
and Nash/Barbosa > TJ/Calderon
Let's net get carried away here guys.

It comes down to who compliments our key pieces more than who's actually better.

Re: Marion want to be traded
to me, it's interesting that they're both demanding trades from winning teams. that's not all that common. like it does everyone else, it drives me crazy to see stars complaining about their bottom feeder teams, as if their record is entirely independent of their own personal contributions (or lack thereof). i don't really like how that symptomizes a monstrous weakness in said players, in that they can't easily deal with their shortcomings and failures and instead decide to point the finger at someone else.
but when it comes to kirilenko and matrix, their problems have nothing to do with that. while kirilenko's is a chemistry/butting heads deal, with shawn it's a contract issue. i can't really judge kirilenko on his since i'm unfamiliar with the scene behind closed doors in utah, but shawn's displeasure is itself mind-bending (imo). he's got years left on his well-paying contract and he's going so far as to demand a trade because they can't negotiate a contract extension. to me, that's almost as selfish as the malcontent who can't endure another losing season. it's just so... selfish. in this case, strange too.
it sort of shines light on the fact that you'll never satisfy everyone. for the sake of argument, even if everyone played for a winning team, there'd still be something to complain about. trade demands would not necessarily cease to exist in that world. using ak and marion as examples, you could evidently be a well-paid star on a championship contender and still find... something to ruffle your feathers, justified or not. perhaps that's reflective of our world today on the whole: so many of us are incredibly spoiled? probably. maybe all of us. or at least all of us have that potential. we need to get our way. if it's not perfect, it's not good enough.
peace

Re: Marion want to be traded
i love ak47, but with the way hes been playing lately, and questions about his work ethic..
you have to take marion over him all day. not to mention matrix is the better man to man defender, rebounder, and better fit for our team imo.
THOUGH both would be VERY nice fits and acquiring ak47 is actually somewhat realistic whereas acquiring marion isn't.

My point exactly, Not only do I think Marion is better, he would complement the raps better as well because he brings in shooting and rebounding, the latter being something we terribly need. AK doesn't rebound as well, he would just be bringing shot blocking.
I'd rather have shooting AND rebounding, than 1 or 2 steals and shotblocking presence.

Re: Marion want to be traded
Being realistic we can't get Marion or AK47 without giving up a major piece. I think our team is set. We just need to time to "gel" a lil more. Hopefully as a team we could address our rebounding issues. Mago should be getting more minutes so that will take some scoring pressure off Bosh, who is capable of having good rebounding nights and can be a better shot blocker.
