It never hurts to have a veteran on your team that isn't afraid to pass on his knowledge to young guys. I applaud BC on bringing D-Mart back and hopefully sometime in the future we will see him in a nice suit on the Toronto Raptors bench as an assistant coach.

If any one of the two PGs gets injured, he would have to play. Anyone remember Juan Dixon briefly running the point for a game? This is the NBA, not a charity league. You don't waste a roster space just because someone is a nice guy. Martin played in 31 games last year. It's not a lot, but it's not insignificant. I have no problem with him being an assistant coach, or "consultant", or whatever they want to call it. I just don't think he's a useful player.
