What is the timetable for his return? What will his role be, if any? Will he be a Raptor at the end of the season?

Joey did not get much burn in the preseason, but the little time he did get it looked like he was working in the post a little more, I believe he only attempted one 3 all preseason. With the play of Moon, the Kapono signing, and Delfino's ability to play the 3 spot where does Joey get minutes?

Garbjosa is done for a while, when Joey comes back will he get some time at the 4 filling in for Garbs?

Joey has been ok in his NBA career, does he have any trade value with a reasonable rookie deal?

he was dressed the other day vs. chicago.. he's no longer injured, we have no playing time for him i guess.

I did not know he dressed, I listened to the game on the radio and did not see it live.

It will be interesting to see if he gets any burn vs. the Grizz.

agreed, i like when we use joey as an undersized PF... the games last year where he took that position, he came out & played real well.

Perhaps go small with Humphries/Graham/Delfino/Kapono/Calderon? Or put Moon and Graham at the 2 forward spots and have Humphries play the C.

Either way, we need to play him. If we are going to trade him, he needs playing time to showcase himself to the other teams. If we are keeping him for another year, he needs to play to develop.

Rasho & Graham back would definitly help the rebounding, inside toughness aspect.

I think that Joey will get some burn down the stretch but there isn't much of a role for him now. I was hopeful this would be a breakout season for him but we've already got breakout seasons from Moon and Carlos. I could see Mitchell using him like Nelson does Pietrus in Golden State. I just don't know how anyone we'd trade for is going to get any minutes either but it's a good situation to be in. Joey's career is far from over and there are a couple teams that could use him (Miami for example) but right now he's not much more than insurance.

I do like the idea of this run and gun lineup:

Damn, thats an athletic lineup would love to see that on the court.
I also was hoping for Graham to breakout but its going to be tough getting minutes with Moon playing so good.

i see joey as another victim of the team's depth. that's all. i don't think the quad injury was anything that ever prevented him from playing, just something that could be used as an excuse while we developed our rotation above him. i think garbajosa was in the same boat. pure speculation though.

joey has become, imo, the consummate 'pro' in both the good sense (he'll do whatever's asked of him, no complaints) and the bad one (he'll do whatever's asked of him: a "yes" man).

i think he could be so much more- but only if he demanded it of himself. and there are going to be those who intimate he hasn't yet had the chance this year, and i suppose they'd be right, but when you've got that 'it', you make sure that you get the chance. joey seems perfectly fine waiting in the woodwork. i guess some people are like that. i just didn't think joey was one of them when he came out of ok st. he hasn't always been a role player.

soon enough i expect kapono and/or delfino and/or dixon and/or parker to be felled by injury and joey'll get his shot. he'll get the job done admirably, of course, but will calmly return to the gallery afterwards, content as ever to be in a suit. some people are just like that, for better or worse. they're often the happiest people in the world, though, strangely enough.

where can we upgrade the team, Moon current starting SF, Delfino & Kapono back ups both swing man that can play both the 2 & 3, I say with Garbo gone, Joey & Hump slit the back uyp PF duties, and Hump.

Only area where we could benefit is a experienced back up SF to help us in the playoffs we saw most of our starting 5 shook in the playoffs guys like TJ CB4, Bargs, Parker, Jose were big this year they have the experience now B.C will have to decide if they have enough experience.
