for the health of this team, i'm almost begging for the coaches to name calderon an all-star. it may finally force us to re-evaluate our pg situation. i've often seen 'our' neverending defenses of tj ford's play to be more a form of denial than sincere argument, and naming jose an all-star would fiercely challenge that denial.

when's the last time a backup point guard was named to the all-star team? when's the last time any backup was named to the all-star team? detlef schrempf? could we seriously justify sticking jose back on the bench when tj returns (even if he's still playing 20-23 mpg) after he gets an all-star nod? at the very least it would complicate things. and i have no problem with that. we could use some of that controversy, imo, which is... what's a nice word for pathetic...

i want to see chris' girlfriend direct a campaign video for jose. see how the team reacts. wouldn't be quite so funny, would it? now, why? answering that question could help our team to answer many of its other questions.
