Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
Quote:

In recent days, I have asked people in a position to know about speculation of interest from Phoenix and Toronto in Andre Iguodala and interest from Cleveland in Gordan Giricek. In each case, I have been told there is nothing there. -- Philadelphia Daily News

http://msn.foxsports.com/rumors
Clearly this rumor has very little substance to it at the moment, and with a player like Andre Iguodala of coarse most teams would be "interested" in acquiring him. But their have been rumors that the Raptors are looking to make a deal before the deadline to improve the team. With one of the Raptors primary needs being a slashing guard/forward who can pass, it seems that this would be a perfect fit.
"IF" this rumor were to be true, who would be going to Philadelphia? Future Picks? Nesterovic? Ford? Delfino? Graham? Dixon? Bargnani?
PS: I am in no way saying a trade or this trade or imminent, i'm just throwing this rumor out there because its an interesting idea.

i don't see why they'd want to move him at this point.

I wouldn't be so sure. Is Philly prepared to pay big dollars to keep him? I like him but he hasn't showed that he's worth franchise player money.

Re: Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
sure we want him, as do 29 other teams..
but do we have enough to get him at this point? No. because we're not giving up Bosh or Calderon right now.
the only way i see us realistically getting him is through a sign and trade, because it doesn't look like he wants to stay in philly at this point.
and LOL @ Iguodala being a franchise player.
the guys a #2 AT BEST on a good team.

Re: Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
before Ford got injured, I wouldnt of minded if BC traded Calderon for Iggy if that was the case, but now I am not so sure. Calderon has proved he should be the guy for the Raps, so unless Ford improves his play before the deadline, raising his stock enough for us to trade him, I dont think theres much we can offer for a player of Iggy's caliber.

Re: Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
you can't trade for him now. Iguodala is in the last year of his contract, he's only making about 2 mil this year. The only scenario for the Raptors to acquire him is in the offseason through some type of sign and trade involving possibly TJ Ford, or Bargnani, our first round pick and maybe someone like a Kris Humphries or Moon. I don't see how the Suns can acquire Iguodala. Theres no way the Sixers would want Boris Diaw, and the Suns are not going to trade Amare for him.
I don't really think Iguodala will be anything more than a borderline allstar and a role player on a good team. He is a step below Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace in terms of talent, but he will most definitely be overpaid next year.

Re: Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
Philly's not moving Igoudala.
I fail to see why they'd deal him for a package of Humphries or Moon or Ford at this point. Bargnani would probably get him but there's no point dealing him for Iguodala in my eyes. Not enough of an upgrade.

Philly is not trading Iggy for Ford even if he didn't have any health dangers. They have Miller and they need a much bigger star.

Re: Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
I guess Philly would have to entertain the idea of Bargnani for Iggy, as they're well stocked with athletic wings and Reggie Evans is their primary power forward. But we're fine on the wing and Bargs is our center of the future so...

Re: Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
we're far from "fine" on the wings.
if you think what we have is or will be championship calibre wing lineup, then your kidding yourself.

Re: Rumor: Raps/Suns Interested in Iguodala
The Heat won a championship with Kapono on the wing. Doesn't that make him championship calibre?
Offensively, the wings are fine. If Delfino can add some lockdown defense, he's be exactly what the Raps need.
