Game Thread: Spurs v. Raptors, 11.02.2008
The Spurs travel to TO tonight to take on the Raptors. Spurs coming off a loss, Raptors off a win in Minny. Last time, the Spurs had their worst shooting night of the season. Let's hope for a repeat of that performance.
Calderon and Ford should be able to abuse the Spurs PGs with Parker still out. Mitchell's not here due to the death of his father-in-law. My condolences, Sam.
Starters:
SPURS:
PG: 11. J. Vaughn
SG: 20. E. Ginobili
SF: 12. B. Bowen
PF: 21. T. Duncan
C: 7. F. Oberto
RAPTORS:
PG: 8. J. Calderon
SG: 18. A. Parker
SF: 33. J. Moon
PF: 4. C. Bosh
C: 7. A. Bargnani

I'm surprised Vaughn and, esp., Ginobili are starting. Ginobili seems to work better coming off the bench.

slow start shooting for toronto, let's not let what happened earlier in the season w/ poor starts happen again tonight.
mike evans who i know has a really good relationship with our guys, along with coaching experience will really help with sam missing the next two games. my condolences also are expressed.

Piss poor start for the Raps. They need to drive. Bargnani and Bosh can beat Oberto and Duncan off the dribble, IMO.

Bosh's knee is wrapped in ice no the bench. That's scary...

Re: Game Thread: Spurs v. Raptors, 11.02.2008
Popovich ejected for being a whiney b***
23-19, Raptors trailing.
Ford enters the game for Jose after a calderon basket & almost an instant steal.

Re: Game Thread: Spurs v. Raptors, 11.02.2008
Three members of the Argentine national team playing tonight. Delfino just got in the middle of a pick-and-roll by Ginobili and Oberto and had to foul Oberto. Everyone was smiling, though.
BTW, Popovich wasn't ejected, just T'd up.
Spurs up 27-21 after the first quarter. Raptors need better shooting and a couple of stops on D at the beginning of the second to get back into this. I'm keeping an eye on Bosh's knee. Any thoughts on that?

Re: Game Thread: Spurs v. Raptors, 11.02.2008
i thought he got two techs and was ejected.. im basically only watching spots of the game, listening to it from the other room, the volume is way up.
however, TJ my dude, i love how he gets to the basket with ease, but c'mon, every shot in close is too soft & short.. put your legs into, you can abuse damon stoudamire all game.
Spurs shooting 60% from the floor, after a 9-0 start.
Raptors shooting about 36% and being outrebounded.
yet we are only down by like 5.. let's step it up.

Re: Game Thread: Spurs v. Raptors, 11.02.2008
eveyrtime tj gets in the leads get bigger for the spurs, and it happened in the clippers game towards the end of the 3rd which killed them. Keep jose on the floor as long as possible.

Re: Game Thread: Spurs v. Raptors, 11.02.2008
Big run by the Spurs, they're up by 12 now. Basically the Raptors did the exact opposite of what they should've done for this quarter so far.
I agree with you that Ford can abuse both Stoudamire and Vaughn. Calderon can, too. And I don't see why Bargnani isn't taking whoever's guarding him off the dribble every time. Run a clear out for him, Jose!
