Re: 3/2 Game Thread: Toronto Raptors 32-25 @ Charlotte Bobcats (19-39)
Chris Bosh is the Toronto Raptors
nice try Rasho
pitiful rebounding, absolutely no energy, we didn't want the ball at all, never deserved a win in a million years with that kind of play.

One of the lowest points of the season, no doubt. Raps get exposed for lack of toughness, grit.
Abused by Jared Dudley. Really could use Garbo for that kind of matchup.
Forderon with one of his worst games as a Raptor.
Mitchell goes away from Bargs and is not rewarded.
The wings look weaker than ever, even with AP playing reasonably well.
No swagger, no W.

Re: 3/2 Game Thread: Toronto Raptors 32-25 @ Charlotte Bobcats (19-39)
Thankfully I am on vacation and did not have to watch this game. CHA is a horrible team. Ugly on paper and worse on the court. Take GWallace off the floor and they are even more brutal. And yet they hand the Raps a 12 point defeat and dominate the last 3 Qs.
Just sad. No Bosh is no excuse. Look at how many guys the Pacers were missing and we couldnt slow down Dunleavy?
Those who called for a big win streak with this soft schedule are starting to realize why some of us were laughing at that.
CHA gets 20 more shots from the field plus another 5 FTAs to make up for their horrible shooting.
BC and the Raps have screwed up by keeping DMart on the roster and making no moves to improve our wing position. Kap is good but if we cant get him ANY 3pt attempts then what is the point? Why could we always get MoP and Parker shots from the corner but not Kap? I find it hard to believe that teams are face guarding him out there and not sagging to help. No other 3pt shooter in the league gets those shots taken away from him. Why Kap and why the Raps? Very frustrating.

Same old story. Bad defending, rebounding, and effort. Where does one start? Bargnani 2 quick fouls again. T.J. Ford chucking like it was his last game.
The offense was pretty good. But the difference in rebounding led to this lost. Now, I'm no fan of Sam Mitchell, but what the hell could he do? He tried Bargnani, Rasho, Humphries, and none of them could stop Okafor on the boards.
I've been saying this for a long time now, and perhaps people will acknowledge these facts after two disappointing losses (and believe me, some were in denial): This team cannot defend nor rebound for crap.

Now thats its mentioned, I really agree with this. I mean Garbo isnt our saviour or anything but he does bring a lot of things that we say are missing on this team this season.

I was wondering where Garbo was going to find minutes this season but he would have found them. We need a lot more than Jorge back but he would have come in handy the last couple.
We just aren't strong enough right now. Will be interesting to see how we battle D12 next game.

we'll probably lose the next one also. If Jared Dudley is eating us up on the boards and getting a double double then D12 is gonna tear us apart.

Re: 3/2 Game Thread: Toronto Raptors 32-25 @ Charlotte Bobcats (19-39)
it's easy to spit on the team tonight.
if i were an optimist, i would enjoy a night like this when there really is no excuse- the team has to stare itself in the face and do something now. we're witnessing the same problems over and over and over again- excuses allowed us to not acknowledge our issues for awhile but there are no excuses left anymore. if demanding improvement was as simple as recognizing the problem first, maybe we're on the right track because the problems with this team could not be made any more obvious.
but i'll say something else that i've been reluctant to share with the board this year: i really don't enjoy watching this team. i mean, if there were ever a team that didn't 'compete' (whatever that means) it would be us. we just look so weak- physically, mentally, emotionally, you name it. i don't know what the problem is. even last year's team showed more spark- what's the difference between that roster and this one? mo pete? pape sow? pj tucker? what?
i've heard enough talk about being great together off the court. too bad this is not a fraternity. there's something to be said for chemistry, but there's also something to be said for sharp-edged competition and fire. we don't have the latter. for one thing, we don't go on extended runs. ever... unless no one's paying attention. and when that happens, we don't even celebrate them. we go back to the bench like we're in the midst of a preseason tilt vs benetton treviso. our games don't really go down to the wire anymore, either- and when they do, it's not because we mount a furious comeback in the waning moments. of all the teams i have ever seen in toronto, the one we have now must be the worst at celebrating. they're not enjoying themselves. it's like they don't know how; or it's like they don't think they're allowed. so passive and tired.
no technicals, no turnovers, no free throws drawn, no controversy- fine, some of those are good things. but when that's all you have, you're not only putting your fans to sleep- you're putting your team to sleep as well.
man, do i ever hope we're a playoff team and this is all a mirage.
peace
