Re: Rasho: In his prime
Rasho's value lies in his expiring contract. As well as he's playing these days, no team will look to acquire him for the sake of his basketball skills. It's just a bonus that comes with getting that 8 mil off the books. I think it's better for the Raptors to keep Rasho because we can use that 8 mil the year after next and we need Rasho to play center for us in the meantime.

Re: Rasho: In his prime
no...he doesn't.
this will be his 10th season in a row (every season he's been in the NBA) making the playoffs.

Re: Rasho: In his prime
If BC does explore moving Rasho, his play of late and his contract will be fairly valuable to more then a few teams. Houston would be a nice fit to back up Yao, the Hornets could use him up front spelling Tyson, and he would be a great fit in Dallas. Do any of these teams have anything we would want, I don't know, but I am sure if we don't keep (my preference) Rasho, BC will get something valuable for him.

Re: Rasho: In his prime
Sadly, if you look at season stats Rasho is outperforming Bargnani. And if you look at the last few weeks Rasho is killing him. He's just a better player at this point...far less skilled, but plays within his means, knows his role, and is pretty consistent. Not to mention, he's our only real defensive presence in the paint.
Rasho season statline:
MPG: 19.6
FG%: 53.8%
FT%: 72.2%
PPG: 6.7
RB: 4.6
APG: 1.1
BPG: 0.7
Bargnani season statline:
MPG: 24.3
FG%: 38.7%
FT%: 82.8%
PPG: 10.3
RB: 3.7
APG: 1.2
BPG: 0.5

Re: Rasho: In his prime
If Rasho can play the entire season the way that he has played the last 10 games or so, he would arguably be a top 5 center in the East. Or top 5 white players that's over 7 feet in the league, depending on whether there are more white 7 footers or legitimate centers right now.

Mamdou N'Diaye is somebody ****ting me? Rasho is hands down better, I agree that in his prime Davis may have been the superior player but I don't think your giving Rasho the props he deserves.

Re: Rasho: In his prime
His shooting/scoring touch is certainly better than I've ever seen it. Last year I would cringe when Rasho threw up an awkward hook shot | |
