Amir = vintage Keon

It is just me or does Amir play exactly like Keon did at his peak for us? The guy has the same build, same type of energy game, and he has springs for legs just like Keon did.

Amir is an absolute stud, and the sky is the limit for him. I think he could end up developing into a decent starting PF if Bosh ends up walking.

Re: Amir = vintage Keon

disagree.. keon was such a freak in terms of wingspan and keon has a couple inches on amir in terms of height as well.. i might take a sober keon over amir.. but definately amir has been playing well during this stretch.

Re: Amir = vintage Keon

Keon was a special talent. Amir is not at that level in terms of pure ability/skill but will likely have a much better career due to his hard work and dedication to the game.

Keon's potential was off the charts. Its a shame he had no interest in achieving it.

Amir is a lot more rugged than Keon though. As athletic as Keon Clark was he never had much of a post game and wasn't much of a banger.

Re: Amir = vintage Keon

I think that has more to do with heart than anything else. And it also goes to Keon's lack of desire to be a top star and build up his body like a Bosh has just done.

I even look at a Rasheed Wallace, who has had a very nice career and has heart, and also see a guy who just never wanted to be that top 50 kind of player. He could have had several MVP caliber seasons if he played in the low post. Unstoppable 2 way player. He lacked the internal motivation to maximize his potential.

Glad to see he is playing well for you guys, one of those nice trades that helped out both teams, the Bucks would be lost without Delfino right now

Re: Amir = vintage Keon

I really like your Bucks team. They are a pleasure to watch, at least in the games against us. They compete hard, play with good pace, and get the job done without any big stars. Lots of solid players. Re-signing Redd was obviously a mistake that hangs over the club.

Not sure why Gadzuric can't get any minutes. Used to be a productive guy. And the JoeAlexander pick hurt as well. Small market teams can't make those mistakes.

Jennings is an interesting guy. Said before the draft he reminded me of Damon Stoudamire who was great for us but did nothing elsewhere.

Bogut is a stud, he just doesnt get the credit he deserves, our team was built well and i gotta give hammond credit for some of the moves he has made, trading Richard Jefferson turned out to be brilliant, Jefferson looks washed up and we used the money we got from that deal (buying out Oberto and Bowen) to sign Hakim Warrick, Jerry Stackhouse, Ersan Ilyasova and the s&t for Delfino. One thing we do well is we play as a team and we have very good depth 1-10, when we make substitutions we dont really lose anything on the court and that keeps us competetive on a nightly basis. The Alexander pick was terrible, but Hammond made up for it with Jennings. The Redd resigning wasnt on Hammond so you cant really fault him for that. As for Gadzuric the guy is terrible, and he belongs on the bench. There is a reason why Kurt Thomas at 36 years old gets the minutes behind bogut over Gadz, he plays solid defense, he has a high basketball iq and he knows what to do on the floor. He can also hit a 15 foot jumper, all things Gadzuric just cannot do. Gadz is good for some energy, a big dunk or block occasionally but thats about it

i would hae to disagree keon clark was a far superior player although didn't work as hard as amir johnson
in terms of skill and athleticism keon clark was better he was just missing the intagibles

This isnt about work ethic. Or natural talent. Its about results on the court.

I dont care that Amir is less talented therefore works harder than Keon. I'm not saying that they are the same player inside. However, the end result is about the same. Amir looks like Keon out there in my opinion. When he knifes in traffic for layups and putbacks, his body type, and just his all around game. I feel like I'm watching a Keon clone out there sometimes...
