The Raptors are said to be looking to acquire an established wing player and Ford's report claims the team has targeted Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay and Andre Iguodala of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo has reportedly let teams know that the pick is available if they are able to acquire the proven small forward they are looking for.

The Raptors are expected to have last season's first round pick Jonas Valanciunas in the lineup this season, so the team may prefer to add a veteran presence instead of two, unproven rookies.

It remains to be seen if the Raptors will be able to move the pick but they could be targeting a point guard such as Weber State's Damian Lillard or a wing scorer such as Syracuse's Dion Walters, UConn's Jeremy Lamb if they decide to keep the draft pick.

I really don't see why Memphis or Philly would even consider this but as a Raptors fan I'd love it.

Would be great to get Rudy Gay, Both Gay and Iggy are about 33% 3 pt shooters so I would hope we add a vet 3 pt specialist at PG @ SG as Carter won't be back and BC has loved using a 2 PG system so I assume if we can retain Bayless for around 4 mill/year he plays as PG 2 and a vet is brought to split time with DD and eithier keep Mags for 1 more year or Gray

You seriously think Jonas will be the 4th center on the depth chart? Are you ****ing kidding me?

no I meant only one of the 2 back up C`s we had will return Mags or Gray I should have put a full bracket, they will not want to rush Val I see the 3rd C with the 2nd C old he will get some nights 10 MPG other nights maybe 17 MPG.

AVg I don`t see greater than 15, I think and they should ease him into the nba C style, buy into Casey`s system.

My expectation
C Amir 25-30 Mags 8-15 Val 3-10 lets assume for the first few games this is the allocation if Val is learning quick by DEc he can be a every night 15 MPG guy.

Theres no way Jamaal Magloire gets more playing time than Jonas. This is a business and your not going to sell any tickets by having your top draft pick that everyone is dying to see, sit on the bench behind some guy who's been past his prime for 5+ years. Jonas is going to really struggle at times but he isn't a slouch and he will learn more from being out there than sitting.

Val is hardly going to sell tickets now, perhaps in a year or 2, right now bargs, DD @ a big FA/trade player will be the guys to sell to avoid having just the upper bowls full and most of the red and north and south ends 80% empty.

I expect Val will start. Maybe not right away (although I wouldn't be overly surprised if this did happen, after a strong Olympics and TC), but certainly by season end. We haven't had a big man with his skill set in a very long time.

Start I doubt, I roll with Amir as the starter and by the all star break try to have Val playing 20 MPG.
We have to see how Val adjusts to the NBa's physical style of play in the paint, we need him to be a force on the glass unlike Bargs, box out rebound 1st shoot 2nd.
