The offseason is nearly over and that means media day is back and will take place Monday, October 1 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the Air Canada Centre. Players and coaches will be available for interviews and photos but this event is not open to the public. Still, plenty of information should be gleaned, and this thread is the place to post anything you come by.

The day after 'Media Day', Training Camp begins in earnest...

The Toronto Raptors announced Friday the team’s roster for training camp at Canada Games Centre in Halifax from October 2-6.

All practices will be closed to the public. Practices will be open to the media for the final 30 minutes. Players and coaches will be available only after a practice session and the intrasquad game. No flash photography or live shots will be allowed during practice and the intrasquad game.

Valanciunas @ 257lbs is already the second heaviest guy on the roster. He weighs more than Magloire, Bargnani and is a full 20lbs heavier than Amir. He's only 13lbs off Gray.

Ed Davis at 228lbs is worrying. Coming into his 3rd year, he weighs just 1 extra pound than when he came into the league.

Yeah Davis should have gotten stronger over the offseason. He's an end of the bench big at this point on a winning team.

Guys, don't get so down on Ed Davis. Yes!! He didn't gain some weight but he trimmed down that baby fat that made him so un-mobile at times. So even though most of you see the 1lbs gain as a negative I look at it as step 1 of the process.

great to hear Val is 257, but from the looks, I would say amir finished the year in the high 260's from the look of his bulk. I still perdict Amir starts but after 15-25 games Val is tarting

Amir is 6-9 and 237lbs right now.

I think Gray will start opening night, this slight injury for Valanciunas has probably knocked him back.

Dwyane Casey does have a man-crush on Aaron Gray but I do see Amir Johnson being the Raptors starting center during game 1. But like I said in the "predict the starting line-up" thread; Aaron Gray might start a lot more times people might think. Johnson is finally healthy and Casey likes him at the 5-spot.

On a sidenote, Eric Smith tweeted how Ed Davis was his best interviewer by far out of all the Raptors. I asked him if it was do to maturity and he said yes. Ed Davis came into camp knowing this will be a make or break type year for him. This season will determine what type of career he'll have. I couldn't be happier with his state of mind this season..I'm just hoping Casey gives him minutes.

Calderon got the nod over Lowry with other expected starters, however, Lowry was supposedly nursing some left leg soreness.
