Andre Miller
With Stock gone soon, as well as Jackson (and Lopez not contributing...he could be good, but it will take time) and the buttload of cap room that Utah will have as soon as their two HOF's leave, I would not be surprised at all to see Andre Miller return to Utah.
Miller is the real deal, and he would be the most popular player in the NBA in their respective city...I mean, for how he lead the U of Utah during their final four year, and then came back for his senior season was great...the fans absolutely love Miller!
I hope this happens more than anything else in the world...seeing Miller in a Jazz uniform would be great for their future. Throw in a matured DSteve, a solid, potentially great SF and C in Kirilenko and Borchardt, and one more good scorer, this team could be back in contention faster than anyone would've predicted.

I agree, Miller would be a hit in Utah, and would nicely replace Stockton, but does he want to play for Utah?

Around draft day before he was traded to the Clipper's he was in Salt Lake for something and was interviewed on local radio. He said he hadn't really considered the Jazz previously but he would be interested. It sounded like he would come if he got the right offer. I think he also said his first choice was to play close to home which is LA. He spent five years at University of Utah so he is familiar with Utah and because of what he did at Utah he would be a returning hero. I think he would have almost instant Karl Malone/John Stockton type status in Utah.

That would be great.
In fact, I'm really surprised how fast the Jazz could rebuild their team after Stockton/Malone Era. But first they have to sign Miller, or at least a great PG like him (and we all know that is not very easy to find).

Hmmmmmm what should miller do?
A. Join Utah and go to an average(or below)team and play in Utah the middle of nowhere. The city no player would really want to play in if they had the choice.
or
B. Or play for the great, young, exciting, talented, Clippers. With great talent and a chance to win a championship in his HOME city, which is a great city with plenty of choices as far as endorsments and other things of that nature.

I think the only way he would WANT to play in Utah is if Rick Majerus was their coach. Thats just my opinion.

D.S. really loved Miles, he knew how much he meant to the fans, and he did not want to let him go. Sterling knew it was time to move forward and continue to improve his team. I'm sure he's focused in on re-signing Dre, either the MAX or close to that . Besides this is where Dre wants to be, back home as he's stated.
It's still early and we've seen what Dre brings to the team, Leadership and stability. This is what they've wanted all along, now that they have it, they won't just let him go after trading his favorite player in Miles. Dre and his agent agreed to play the rest of the year then begin the negotiations after. He'll remain as part of the Clipp Joint

Before we decide Utah is a below average team I think we should wait and see what they do with 30 million in cap room in the best free agent crop in a long time. Miller hasn't been offered an extension he is willing to sign yet. It would be stupid to trade for him then not extend him but we are talking about Sterling so most anything is possible. Also How many of those "great, young, exciting, talented, Clippers" will be with the team in 2-3 years?

We won't know until the end of the year. My only point was that the only thing that would draw miller back to utah is Rick majerus, he has alot of respect for the guy.

I am not sure Rick Majerus is even enough though he could have some influence. I think the only thing that will bring Miller to Utah is if Sterling screws up and Utah gives him a more attractive offer. From the interveiw I heard the LA area is his first choice. If that doesn't work out then Utah was interesting to him. I would love to see him here but I think it is unlikely.

Before you Clip fans go off about what Miller wants...
Keep in mind that Miller said on a radio show he likes Utah, and would definetely play there.
Second, Utah would offer Miller the max. No doubt.
Finally, LAC has 8 FA's this year...it's gonna be hard to make attractive offers to all of them.

Which of the eight will they resign?
I understand it is still early but if the Clippers don't turn the season around and play better, how will that affect Sterling's spending in the offseason? It seems to me that Sterling might be less likely to offer long term big dollar contracts and someone would have to take the blame/fall for the failure to live up to expectation. Who will that be? GM, Elgin Baylor? Coach, Alvin Gentry? Players as a group? Specific players? Miller? Brand?
