Ok, maybe Dallas throwing a second-round pick and cash it become better... But I don't think that Utah can grab someone better with the Dallas pick...

Since Brevin Knight has been signed by the Bobcats ( ), either Shammond Williams or Kenny Anderson would be a good fit in Utah.

Rod Strickland played very well last year. He would do well in the Sloan system.

The outside shot is Jermaine Boyette from Weber State, who has played with their summer league team for the last two years and played well periodically and already knows the system.

Jazz in no hurry to sign guard
http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,595089790,00.html
"O'Connor declined to speculate on the Jazz's prospective signees, but it seems reasonable to assume that one candidate will be former Weber State star Jermaine Boyette, who played with the Jazz's summer-league team. Another possibility is veteran Travis Best, who the Jazz were rumored to have interest in last summer. A long-shot prospect is Dan Dickau, recently traded to Dallas but expected to be cut by the Mavericks"

Only worthwhile ones I see are Boyette and Coles.

Best is a great backup guard. I dont know why hes fallen from grace with so many people, but I still think hes good enough to be a starter on some teams in this league. I for one think hes better than Brevin Knight.

It's obvious who I'm pulling for.
I think Bo would be an awesome third choice, not just because of being a fan-favorite but because he has a different playstyle than Raul and Carlos that could be utilized in certain situations just like Williams was last year.

I've yet to see Boyette play, but I like the idea of bringing in a local kid who's young and has something to prove.

Actually, I'd say his playstyle is quite comparable to Mo Williams, but less of a shooter and more of a slasher.

Saw Boyette many times at the DEC. Shooting is a problem, but I think he can throw defenders off somewhat being left-handed. Very good finisher for a small guy.

I think the Jazz third PG will probibly be someone like Jermaine Boyette, or Marque Perry. someone who went undrafted, and is just trying to make the NBA. because most guys who have played a season or two would want a garenteed contract, the guys trying to make the NBA, just want a contract come november. plus there is more flexability with those guys, IE trades.
