Yikes. Sounds good!

But no. I wouldn't. Deron's going to be something special, and the Jazz are clearly grooming him for a longterm future in Salt Lake. Heck, even right now he's as good for the team as Mike James could be, I think.

As for Matt, he's never going to be an All Star, maybe, but he's tough and he's proven himself to the organization for years now. If it's up to me, I don't trade him away. He stays here and retires here.

Raps probably have the fifth pick. As I see it: Blazers, Bobcats or Knicks, Hawks, Raptors, Warriors, Celtics. Looking over the draft class, who's worthwhile at the fifth spot? Gotta figure Morrison, Gay, Aldridge and Noah will all be gone by the time Toronto's choice comes up.

Nah, it's not worth it to Utah to make this deal, IMO. Sounds really good at first glance--Mike James rocks--but it's better for Toronto than it is for us.

You wana take our starting PG, and our sixth man for james and a 5th pick? I dont think so. Deron will be a great PG, while the players coming into the draft now wont be. Lets get real here.

Re: Toronto To Trade Lottery Pick?

No. if they were willing to take someone else(other than AK) then maybe. if the Jazz could land Alderidge at 5, then I wouldn't mind seeing Okur or Boozer as part of the deal. but my thoughts on this is the Raptors wouldn't do it because this looks like a salery dump situation.

You'd trade off Okur or Boozer for Aldridge? I sure wouldn't. Four months ago I'd've taken two Snickers bars and a second-round choice for Boozer, but I wouldn't now--and definitely not for an unproven rookie, even a 5 pick. As for Okur, not a chance. He's getting the chance he never got in Detroit (Championship ring and all), and he's kicking butt with it here in Utah. No way I trade him out.

Dont get me wrong, I do like both Boozer and Okur. but they are defensive liabilities. and if AK gets hurt, then we're going to see what happened in December 04, where the Jazz lose 10 games in a row.

pick up pryz this offseason instead of getting a 5th pick rookie that is unproven. The fact is, boozer can be our go to guy on offense, okur can step out and hit the long balls. You have pryz coming in off the bench for defensive purposes. This has been talked about on scout forums. But this is the lineup they have came up with. we pick up speedy and pryz in the offseason and resign harp.

PG- Deron Williams - Speedy Claxton
SG-Gordon Giricek - Devin Brown - Speedy Claxton
SF-Andrei Kirilenko - Matt Harpring
PF-Carlos Boozer -Kris Humphries
C-Mehmet Okur - Joel Przybilla -Jarron Collins

Then pick up a rookie, sign a few players and call it good.

Offessive Lineup

Deron Williams
Gordon Giricek
Andrie Kirilenko
Carlos Boozer or Mehmet Okur
Mehmet Okur or Carlos Boozer

Defensive Lineup

Deron Williams
Devin Brown
Matt Harpring
Andrie Kirilenko
Joel Pryzbilla

Speed Lineup

Deron Williams
Speedy Claxton
Andrie Kirilenko
Carlos Boozer or Mehmet Okur
Mehmet Okur or Carlos Boozer

Big Lineup

Deron Williams
Andrei Kirilenko
Matt Harpring
Carlos Boozer or Mehmet Okur
Mehmet Okur or Carlos Boozer

lol, could do a lot of lineups with the pipe dream of getting claxton and pryz. You could rotate boozer and okur to 4 or 5 depending on who we are matching up against.

Earlier in the season they didn't think they could afford him, but he's been injured a goodly bit of the time, and his stock's dropped some; nobody's going to pay him now what they would have in November. If they can possibly swing it, Portland's going to try to keep him--and add Morrison. With Pryzbilla healthy next year, and with Morrison on board and Telfair another year more experienced, suddenly the Blazers don't look so pathetic.

Re: Toronto To Trade Lottery Pick?

I am not sold on the idea of picking up Pryzbilla. to me he seems like he is only good because he is on a very bad team.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Jazz pick up Claxton, but I think they wont. chances are they'll just keeping putting us through misery and keep Palacio or McLeod.

I also don't think the Jazz will keep both Brown and Giricek. I think they'll get rid of one of them during the off-season. they'll use the 13-15th pick on a 2 in the draft. then use CJ as a back up.

Re: Toronto To Trade Lottery Pick?

Firstly, Pryzabilla won't resign with Portland. He has had problems with that team. He has tried to exert himself as a leader in the locker room and it hasn't gone over too well. Chicago has more money under the cap and they will try to get him or nazr mohammed. Second, there are other teams that will want speedy. What I am saying is that each offseason we as fans say what we want the jazz to pick up and we forget that most people don't want to come here. I say stay with harpring, get Giricek healthy and draft a shooter. From the looks of it the jazz will be late lottery, so getting a good shooter is very possible. Other than that I say get healthy and start working on chemistry. Watching the jazz now they seem to be jelling better each time I see them.

That's why I said it would be a pipe dream. Because realisticaly it is. But I would be happy with claxton and pryz as a defense bonus. Just because we would get pryz, doesn't mean he would be starting. he would come in off the bench and is a lot better than the bench players we have now. So, why not.
