http://basketballboards.net/forum/sh...d.php?t=258640
LakerMike05 has a nice wager here, so go bet on the Jazz to extend their lead over the Hornets!
Probable Starters
Your Utah Jazz!
 ....... ..... ....
Memo Okur...................... Carlos Boozer................ Matt Harpring.......... Andrei Kirilenko
.................................................. ...
.................................................. ...... Deron Williams
The Oklahoma City Hornets

Marc Jackson........... Desmond Mason........ PJ Brown........... Chris Paul........... Rasual Butler
__________________________________________________ ________
Needless to say, this is a must-win, just like all the others now. We're a game up on Oklahoma City, and this win will give us two--enough to hold off the Hornets if we lose to San Antonio and/or Dallas.
Oklahoma City is struggling late in the season, just as the Jazz are getting stronger, so this game is definitely doable. Look for Deron Williams to have a big game against his good friend and possible ROY Chris Paul. We need serious production from the usual suspects--and another big game from Devin Brown would be very welcome.
Note: The Hornets have seemingly given up on returning to New Orleans. Tonight will mark the debut of their new uniforms proclaiming them the Oklahoma City Hornets.

Well, I didn't bet that high, but I put a good bit on Utah to win too. This game doesn't scare me too much. The following two--Spurs and Mavs--are the ones that worry me. San Antonio lost big to Orlando (?!), and Phoenix spanked Dallas all over the court last night, so both of them are going to be pissed off with something to remind people of. Let's hope they don't prove it against Utah.
And YAY, AK!! for playing on vBookie!!

Re: Game Thread: Jazz/Hornets 4/14/06
Every game this late scares me, the only thing the Jazz have been this year is inconsistant. I do think they can win this one. I just hope they can build a big lead early, because I think that would really discourage the Hornets and they may give up.
also, this would be a big one because it would get the Hornets off the Jazz trail in the wanna-be-in-the-playoff-race. I think it would actually eliminate them from the race as well.

Re: Game Thread: Jazz/Hornets 4/14/06
The Lakers' and Kings' magic number is 2. So if there are two more Laker and King wins, or two more Jazz losses... or any combination of Laker and King wins with Jazz losses, then we're out. So, basically if we lose tonight and both the Lakers and Kings win, then we're out.

Sorry but the Hornets have not given up on returning to New Orleans. The next 3 games they will be wearing New Orleans jerseys. They are wearing those jerseys for this last "home" game of the season to show the fans of OKC that they appreciated the support they received this season and they will then be autographed and autioned off. Benefits to go to Hoops for Homes/Habitat for Humanity in New Orleans. David Stern is tired of telling people the Hornets will return to New Orleans. Said it again in his Teleconference on yesterday.

Wow, talk about wayyyy too close for comfort! Still, a win's a win, and we need all of those we can scrounge.
105-104, Utah Jazz.

OMG, I was shaking that game. Now, KINGS LOSE KINGS LOSE, that would make my day tommorow knowing that the jazz play dallas on sunday. Then Spurs on Monday... If we win both of those games, We will need to get the supposed gimme against warriors. Starting 5 all in double figures again!

Really? I'd read these were their new uniforms to signify their new home. If that's wrong, I apologize. Thanks for the correction--and it makes me happy they're going home. New Orleans needs its teams to come home. Still pisses me off that the VooDoo are blowing it all off for at least another year.

Thanks Laurie! Where did you read that? I'm not a real Arena Football follower but I believe I heard the VooDoo will resume playing next season. I'm not familiar with when the season started but I doubt the New Orleans Arena was ready for them. It was ready for the Hornets to play their March games but I think the AFL began before that right?
Good luck with Dallas on Sunday. I, personally, think the Hornets will lose their last 3 games.

Aren't the Voodoo the Kansas City Stealth ? and I heard they moved there, and will break away once the city of New Orleans is back to normal.
back to the game; Great win for the Jazz, but it was really to close. AK with a huge block on Paul. I just wish AK could get a few more blocks, assist rebounds one night and end up with a quad,or quintuple double.

Re: Game Thread: Jazz/Hornets 4/14/06
Quint would be way to hard, think about it. He would have to get that hard quad and get 10 steals with it. He has the biggest chance, but that is still like .000000001 chance of happening. It's not going to happen anytime soon. But that quad could come next season IMO.
