Boozer Will Be Back!
Quote:
"Yeah, unless you guys know something I don't," Boozer said when asked if he expected to play for Utah next season. "Why wouldn't I be?"
Owner Larry Miller said last week that there is "a 99 percent chance" that Boozer would return next season, and Kevin O'Connor, in charge of building the roster, said he expects the power forward to remain in Utah.
"I had a great time last year, I had a great time this year," Boozer said. "My whole team is going to be really good next year."
"Obviously, on a day like this, you feel like you could have done more," he said. "But we jelled faster than I thought. I like how this team came together."

Here you go laurie. This is what proof I have been waiting to show you for some time. I have been right about everything about boozer. Boozer left cleveland because cleveland was trying to screw him and they were thinking of cleveland instead of boozer. The jazz showed boozer that he was worth the big money, and boozer wants to show it. I guess he likes all the good looks on passes from williams and kirilenko. This jazz team (if healthy) looks mean for next year.

I sure hope you're right about Boozer. I hope he's not BSing and that he'll play as hard come the fall as he has this last month and change.
Yes, the Jazz look tough for next season if they keep this up and everybody's healthy.
Interesting he describes the team as his. "My whole team...." Odd, that. If the team's anybody's, isn't it Kirilenko's?

Re: Boozer Will Be Back!
Personally, I think this team should be Deron's because he can actually lead them. Boozer aint leading this team anywhere.

True. Hadn't thought of that. More Deron than Kirilenko, probably, though AK's always going to have to come up big in all categories for the Jazz to do well.

Re: Boozer Will Be Back!
I'm sure he wasn't meaning the way you think it meant. Because I think he was just mentioning that his teammates. But Boozer has even said he is going to stay, that is good enough for me. We will now wait until the next season starts.

Maybe you're right. What it is is this: I don't trust the guy--don't trust him to do right by the Jazz or by Jazz fans....so maybe I nitpick him too much. It'll take a full season of Carlos Boozer being solid and working hard here in Utah for me to not question his motives and words and actions.
That said, I'd rather you be right about him than me.

Gotta go with AK on this one. Assuming Boozer does what he does with consistency next season, his numbers far outweigh the benefits of a Mike Miller/Joe Johnson type. In fact, if he's solid and doesn't flake on us again, having him around is going to be key to making the Playoffs.
A good shooter would be nice, don't get me wrong. We could sure use one--but Boozer's too high a price.

Re: Boozer Will Be Back!
Just keep going after SG in FA, Draft, and train the ones we have. IMO, we can't break the 4 of williams, kirilenko, boozer, okur.

Bingo. Not a superstar in the bunch, but a reallly good collection of solid guys who work well together. Kinda like the Pistons, but not as good just yet.
Give 'em a year or two together, though, and they might well be.

Five years? Suddenly Matt's not so young anymore, and neither's AK--and both are already injury prone.
Honestly, I don't expect Kirilenko to be playing basketball in five years.
