Man my knowledge isn't in free anency, salery caps, or trades. I usually work with what we have instead of what we could have.
One upside, but nothing to get too excited about it Stevenson. He's a good shooter and has game. I think he will be coming off the bench and get some good minutes next season.
A guard based team isn't going to suffice in the West. All the playoff teams have a power foward or center that can be an allstar.

Keep Matt Harpring! That guy is your future.

A small foward isn't going to cut it in the West. We need a big man.

Well...some might say Kirilenko is the future. That's the trouble....the logjam at SF. If we could get a good player for Harpring this offseason (he has good trade value Im sure) a possible cornerstone guy at a diff. position, it's hard to see us not pulling the trigger. But I'd prefer to keep him.

Are you smoking some of the wacky weed or are we watching a different Stevenson? A good shooter? He is a career 38.6%shooter. That is 288-746 shots. Here is the breakdown by years. In 00-01 he shoot 34.1 FG% and 8.3 3PT%. In 01-02 he shot 38.5 FG% and 8.0 3PT%. This year he shot 40.1 FG% and 33.3(4-12) 3PT%. In the the playoffs he shot 41.2 FG%(7-17) and 0-2 from 3PT range.

That's why I said not to get excited about. From the games I watch, which aren't many because I only get to see the ones on national tv and when they play the Knicks, 76ers, and Nets, but it always looked like he had a good shot.
Wow I really didn't even think he shot that many shots.

What about this trade?
Jay Williams, Marcus Fizer, Eddie Robinson, Dalibor Bagaric, Trent Hassell, and Chicago's first rounder this year (if it is not in the top 3)
for
Greg Ostertag, Andrei Kirilenko, John Amaechi, DeShawn Stevenson, re-signed Mark Jackson, and a future first rounder
I know you guys see AK-47 as the future, but with Williams, Fizer, and Chicago's first rounder, this gives Utah a lot to look forward to. Before his injury, Fizer was becoming quite a force. In a way, the Williams/Fizer combo could be a poor man's Stockton/Malone.
With the pick and lot of money under the cap, Utah could go in any number of directions and put together a very nice team much quicker than the Bulls were able to.

When is Fizer expected back? By the time we can sign and trade Jackson we will have or will be using the cap space and would he want to come to Chicago. My understanding is that the reason Denver waived him and he signed with the Jazz was for him to be on a playoff team. Will you compete for the playoffs next year?Would a poor man's Stockton/ Malone get us 47 wins next year or make us a better team in several years? I don't think we would give up both Ostertag and AK-47 unless we get proven starters in return. I also doubt we are willing to take on Robinson's salary, Bagaric and Hassell. None of those guys contributed last year did they?

I think Fizer is progressing ahead of schedule and is due back by the beginning of the season, although I am not sure about that.
I think there is a very good chance that the Bulls might make the playoffs next year. Also, Jackson could get a good start on his future coaching career playing for the Bulls, given how young the team is and how relatively inexperienced Cartwright is.
I am sure the Bulls would love to keep Hassell. I just thought that Utah might like a tough defender at the SG spot, something they really didn't have this year.
I think Utah is going to have to take some risks on unproven potential stars, since they are going to have a hard time attracting superstars through free agency. They could build through the draft like the Bulls, but doing so would commit the Jazz to several long years of losing.
Utah will need somebody to put the ball in the hole, and Williams and Fizer could do that for them.
