Possibility of Rasual Butler
Quote:
The 6-foot-7 La Salle product is a career 40 percent shooter over four NBA seasons, including three with Miami. He averaged 8.7 points in 79 games for the Hornets last season.
The Jazz apparently would consider making an offer to 27-year-old Butler but only if they can't re-sign their own free-agent swingman, 30-year-old veteran Matt Harpring.
Harpring, meanwhile, continues to pursue a long-term contract and establish his open-market value.

Jazz could next target Hornets free agent Butler
ICK. This just doesn't sound good to me at all. I really wasn't interested in Peja, but if we have to lose Matt better Peja than this nothing Butler.

Re: Possibility of Rasual Butler
Peja is overrated anyhow. he's injury prone, and doesn't play D.
I wouldn't mind Butler, but I think the Jazz should try to get Harpring back, and sign Butler. even if it does take them over the cap a little. because the Jazz have lacked depth in the seasons past.

AK, Harp, Devin, Brewer, Miles all play the 3 sometimes. I don't think we need another 3 but thats just my opinion.

That is very true, I think it was if we didn't get harp. But harp will sign with the jazz, so we are in no need of rasual butler, unless we can get him really cheap.

Re: Possibility of Rasual Butler
I actually dont expect Devin Brown to last the offseason with the Jazz. I also think Butler would fit great in Jerry Sloans system. I agree that the Jazz must try and get him cheap. and I think if the Jazz wait around they can get him cheap. I remember a lot of people were really high on Raja Bell three summers ago, and as time wore on, his value plummeted and the Jazz got an excellent bargin.

We may be able to wait but another team that has interest in him is the Nets and I'm sure he would rather play for a contending team but you never know he may get more PT here in utah but he will slow the developement of Miles and Brewer in my opinion.
