Larry Miller's thoughts on players
http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,495032757,00.html
Here are a few I thought were interesting
On CARLOS ARROYO
Quote:
Miller: "As I've watched Carlos, both in practice and in games, I think he's a pretty skilled player."
On CALBERT CHEANEY
Quote:
Miller: "Until we have our (personnel) meeting (next month) we don't really know. But with us moving younger, I would say it's not a strong likelihood that he'll be a big part of us going forward. To play another year or something for us is not out of the question at all — we really like him personally, and he fit into the team well — but we also have to have any player be able to respond in big games. And you can look at his stats in the playoffs — it doesn't paint a very pretty picture."
On MARK JACKSON
Quote:
Miller: "I think Mark helped us this year, more than I thought he would. He's better at this stage in his career than I thought he was, and I'm appreciative of that. But I think that with what we're trying to do, to develop the team for the future, that we'll be looking to another point guard."
On TONY MASSENBURG
Quote:
Miller: "Massenburg, I think, has a pretty good chance of sticking on the team. We like a lot of what Tony did. You know what you're going to get from him every night."
On GREG OSTERTAG
Quote:
Miller: "I would say yes (for the long-term future), if he can demonstrate a consistency all next year that he did the last four, five weeks of the season. But he's going to decide how committed he wants to be. Because what I've come to believe about Greg is he's a good guy . . . but he doesn't have what I'm going to call the natural passion and fire that a John Stockton has. Therefore, he has to have the personal discipline to reach in and get it. What I saw Greg do the last month of this year, fairly frequently, was play well when he wanted to. So at least I know he can . . . But he's teased us so much over the years . . . The indulgence he allowed himself in Game 5 (of the playoffs) in Sacramento (getting ejected with two technical fouls) was pathetic. I mean, to let his teammates down like that — six minutes into a game that important? So, he's going to have to learn some disciplines, both how to play night-in and night-out, and to control himself. But, actually, I like Greg enough. He's grown on me over the time he's been here. I hope he is (part of the future), but he's going to have to earn that right next year."

He made comments on every player. I am out of time so I will probably try to make some comments of my own and maybe post some more another time. What do you think
