Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 7:
Jazz (3-3) @ Bucks (5-1)
The Jazz looked to end their 3-game road streak with a win over the surging Bucks.
The first half held nothing surprising, and Boozer and Redd paced their teams respectively.
The third quarter held terrible transition defense, made up for by hard work on the other end, for the Jazz. There was also an astounding number of turnovers and steals for either team, as Brewer nabbed his 5th steal midway through the 3rd.
During the 4th, the Jazz took their first lead since the 2nd quarter off a wide-open Ronnie Brewer 3-pointer, followed by a streaking dunk also demonstrated by Brewer. The two teams continued to trade buckets down the stretch, as well as continuing to turn over the ball on both ends. The Jazz continued to rebound terribly as they have demonstrated during this road trip, giving the Bucks easy second chance points and going one-and-out on offense for the most part of the 4th quarter. Rookie Ronnie Brewer kept the Jazz close on the offensive end while fellow rookie Paul Millsap helped the Jazz clean up their mess on the boards while Carlos Boozer took a much-needed rest. The Bucks took a 11-point lead with 4:20 remaining in the fourth because of their continual display of terrible transition defense, and complete crap on the offensive end, missing lay-ups and wide open jumpshots, as well as running out of bounds at random to cap off a complete implosion in the fourth quarter. The Jazz wound up getting outrebounded by 13, had 21 turnovers, and best of all, outscored on the fast break 38-4. Mehmet Okur also continued his despicable string of games and seems to be in the doghouse.
Bucks 103 - 94 Jazz
Jazz
Carlos Boozer - 22pts, 10reb
Ronnie Brewer - 16pts, 5stl
Deron Williams - 15pts, 7ast

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 8:
Clippers (2-4) vs. Jazz (3-4)
The Jazz came out very upset about the loss to the Bucks, knowing they completely blew the game by letting the Bucks walk all over them in transition during their road loss on Saturday night. After the rest, the team re-focused and the players guaranteed they would not let up at all during Tuesday's game against the Clippers.
The Jazz started the game on a quick 5-0 burst with a Boozer and1, and an Okur easy layup off of a mismatch. The Jazz continued pounding the ball into the paint and playing tough defense, but the Clippers' relentless attacking of the basket, and the Jazz's tendency to foul like crazy kept the game tight after the 1st, 25-22 Jazz lead.
During the 2nd quarter, the Clippers caught fire and weren't going to be stopped. They walked into the locker room with a 9-point lead.
The 3rd quarter spelled the Jazz's doom, as the Clippers rose to an 18-point lead. The Jazz, led by a surge from Deron Williams, cut the lead to 11 by the end of the quarter.
Deron Williams continued to burn the Clippers, bringing the Jazz all the way back to within 2. The Jazz eventually took the lead off a Ronnie Brewer dunk and the foul over Quentin Ross, giving the Utah squad a 88-87 lead with a little over 5 minutes remianing. The Jazz continued their momentum and held the Clippers scoreless until the final shot of the game by Sam Cassell. Derek Fisher and Mehmet Okur broke the camels' back with free throws down the stretch, and the Jazz iced an amazing come-from-behind victory, outscoring the Clippers 23-7 in the final quarter, and that IS counting Cassell's 3-pointer during the final possession.

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 9
Jazz (4-4) vs Sonics (6-3)
The Jazz wasted no time getting the game started in their favor, reeling off 8 straight points to start the ballgame, and later taking a 24-point lead to end the 1st quarter, with the Jazz blowing the Sonics off the floor 37-13.
The Utah bench hit the floor in the second and kept the intensity at a high rate. The Jazz walked into the locker room holding the Sonics to only 39 points in the first half, while they managed to score 63. The Utah squad continued to pick apart the Sonics' lackadasical defense, running the pick and roll with rookie Paul Millsap time after time for wide open lay-ups.
The Jazz starters hit the floor midway through the 3rd and poured it on, as the Sonics continued to look like statues on the defensive end.
The game ended with the Jazz beating the Sonics senseless, to the tune of a 22-point blowout on their home floor. The game also featured a franchise record 27 steals by the Jazz, 32 Sonic turnovers, 12 missed Ray Allen 3-point attempts, and 58 bench points by the Jazz. All in all, it was a complete blowout from the beginning of the game.

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 10:
Suns (4-4) vs Jazz (5-4)
With Ronnie Brewer out for the game with a severe case of the flu, the Jazz wasted no time, again getting off to a hot start, and scoring the first 10 points of the game. The Suns hung in their using their outside threats, but could only narrow the defecit to 8 by the end of the quarter. Boozer took the game over in the opening period, scoring a convincing 16 points in the opening frame.
CJ Miles filled in nicely for Brewer during the 2nd quarter, scoring 12 points and also dishing out 5 assists in the second quarter. The Jazz, meanwhile, began beating the Suns at their own game with Derek Fisher and CJ Miles hitting 3's consistently, boosting their lead in the 2nd up to as many as 20 points. The Jazz headed into the locker room blistering on offense and holding an 18-point lead.
The Suns started the third on a mini-run, beginning with Eddie House hitting a 30-foot 3-pointer as the shot clock expired. They continued to inch closer to the Jazz, eventually coming within 8 points by the end of the quarter.
During the 4th, the Jazz cruised to a pretty easy victory, being paced by Carlos Boozer, who almost had a triple double, and Derek Fisher. The Suns made every attempt to get back into the game, but the Jazz continued to plague the passing lanes and ended the game with 21 steals.

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 11:
Raptors (5-4) vs Jazz (6-4)
The Jazz looked to continue their 3-game win streak against the much improved Toronto Raptors.
During the second quarter, Carlos Boozer took a charge from Chris Bosh, sending him to the floor, and more importantly, to the locker room with a sprained wrist. He would later return with the wrist taped up, but he could not perform normally scoring only 2 points on 1-7 from the floor.
Suffering from the scoring absense of Boozer, the Jazz struggled to hang in the game as Toronto built an 18-point lead midway through the 3rd quarter.
The Jazz came back to tie the game, and take the lead repeatedly toward the end of the 4th quarter. With the score knotted at 92, the Raptors brought the ball up the floor, and Chris Bosh hit a baseline jumper leaving 0.8 seconds on the clock. On the insuing inbound for Utah, Deron Williams got a good look at a 3 to win the game, but it rimmed in and out and Utah fell to the Raptors despite overcoming a big defecit. This ends their win streak and leaves their offense gloomy for the next few games.
Despite the loss, the Jazz got yet another productive game from C.J. Miles who was recently put into action as Ronnie Brewer has been on injured reserve for the last 2 games.
Raptors 94 - 92 Jazz
Jazz
Andrei Kirilenko - 25pts, 5reb
C.J. Miles - 24pts, 3ast, 2blk

Chris Bosh - 18pts, 14reb
Fred Jones - 12pts
Jose Calderon - 12pts, 6ast

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 12:
Jazz (6-5) @ Kings (2-7)
Ronnie Brewer returned to action for the Jazz, and the 2nd year guard C.J. Miles got the start for the Jazz Wednesday against the Kings. Carlos Boozer, who has a sprained wrist, will be on the injured reserve for the next couple of games as the Jazz would like to play with smaller line-ups and develop the younger players while they face some easier and quicker competition.
During the first, CJ Miles continued to ignite the Jazz's offense during his first start of the season. The young, quick starters for the Jazz picked the Kings' defense apart in the first for several very easy, uncontested lay-ups, en route to 13 unanswered points and an 8-point lead to end the 1st quarter.
The outside shooting went stone cold for the Jazz during the second quarter as the Kings clawed their way back into the game, eventually tying it midway through the quarter. Thanks to a late run led by Derek Fisher and company, the Jazz pushed it back to a 7-point lead by halftime.
The Kings came out striking in the 3rd, led by Mike Bibby, and quickly took the lead much to the Jazz's dismay. Deron Williams re-focused the Jazz with back-to-back steals and coast-to-coast lay-ups midway through the period. Sensing the lack of offensive support, Williams continued to shine in the 3rd, repelling the Kings' advances and giving the Jazz a narrow, 2-point margin heading into the 4th.
The Jazz opened up the 4th with a Kirilenko lay-in and a transition Fisher 3-pointer to immediately boost their lead up to 7. The Kings quickly regrouped and narrowed it right back down to 2 points. The Jazz continued to scoff at every comeback attempt by the Kings, pushing it quickly back to a 10-point game, as their midrange game opened back up. Midway through the 4th, Mehmet Okur quickly picked up foul number 5 and 6 on back-to-back possessions, and the Kings narrowed the gap to 3 points. Andrei Kirilenko and Deron Williams paced the Jazz as they roll over the Kings 118-110.
Jazz 118 - 110 Kings.
Jazz
Deron Williams - 28pts, 9ast, 2stl
Andrei Kirilenko - 22pts, 9reb, 5ast, 2stl, 2blk
Mehmet Okur - 17pts, 7reb, 2ast, 2stl, 2blk
Ronnie Brewer - 16pts
Paul Millsap - 7pts, 14reb
Kings
Mike Bibby - 27pts, 12ast, 11-29 FG
Ron Artest - 16pts, 6ast
Kevin Martin - 12pts, 5ast
Corliss Williamson - 12pts

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 13:
Lakers (5-6) vs Jazz (7-5)
Carlos Boozer sat another game to allow his wrist to heal, and hopefully allow him to return to the Jazz lineup quickly. Andrei Kirilenko started at the 2 guard position, to keep Kobe contained and to force mismatches on the offensive end.
Both teams came out firing in the first quarter. Deron Williams scored 11 to lead his squad to a 3-point lead at the end of the first quarter. Kobe also scored 14 in the opening frame.
The Lakers eventually broke a close game open during the 3rd quarter, gaining a 10-point edge as Kirilenko hit the bench with his 4th foul. The Jazz narrowed their lead to 7 by the end of the 3rd.
Andrei Kirilenko kept the Jazz within striking distance down the stretch, as the Jazz narrowed the gap to 5, battling back from earlier double-digit defecits. With 1 minute left in the game, and as the Jazz were charging back, Kirilenko went down with a Twisted Ankle that should keep him out of the next two games. The Lakers then closed the game out, beating the Jazz by 9.
Lakers 123 - 114 Jazz
Jazz
Andrei Kirilenko - 21pts, 7reb, 4ast, 2stl, 5blk
Mehmet Okur - 21pts, 14reb, 7ast
Deron Williams - 19pts, 4ast, 2stl
Ronnie Brewer - 19pts, 7ast
Derek Fisher - 16pts
Lakers
Kobe Bryant - 39pts, 6ast, 5stl, 13-19 FTs
Lamar Odom - 22pts, 14reb, 7ast
Smush Parker - 21pts, 8ast
Vladimir Radmanovic - 20pts, 8reb
Jordan Farmar - 8pts

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 14:
Jazz (7-6) @ Warriors (8-5)
With Andrei Kirilenko on the IR, and Carlos Boozer still not 100%, but still playing, the Jazz headed into Golden State to try to beat the streaking Warriors for the second time on the season. Matt Harpring also saw his first start of the season.
The Jazz and Warriors battled each other to a standstill in the first quarter, with the Jazz showing off their depth and getting great production from their role players. Jarron Collins finished the quarter with 6 points on 3/3 shooting.
The Jazz quickly opened up a 7-point lead in the second continuing where they left off with production from their role players, and the guard combo of Williams/Fisher doing well on the offensive end. Midway through the 2nd, Carlos Boozer returned to the court still not fully healthy, but he boosted the Jazz's lead up to 10 points with 3 quick buckets on the inside. The Jazz went into the locker room with a 14-point edge as the team came together and shut down the Warriors in the second quarter, allowing only 11 points to be scored.
The Jazz continued their menacing of the Warriors during the 3rd, building their lead up to 21 by the end of the quarter thanks to more stifling defense and fluidity on offense. Deron Williams had 22 points by the end of the quarter.
The Jazz set it to cruise control in the 4th and rolled over the Warriors.

Re: unlucky's 2k7 Jazz season
Game 15:
Magic (4-10) vs Jazz (8-6)
Andrei Kirilenko and Carlos Boozer saw limited action on Tuesday as the Jazz took on the Magic.
During the 1st, the Jazz were in for quite a scare as Mehmet Okur went down with a wrist sprain of his own. He will be playing limited minutes over the next week or so, depending on the severity. To add insult to injury, recently returned Andrei Kirilenko came into the game, only to make a quick exit to the sidelines with 2 immediate fouls, that followed by Deron Williams' two quick fouls. Before the Jazz knew it, 4 of their 5 starters were either hurt or on the bench anyway because of foul trouble, and the Magic quickly took advantage of it taking a 12-point lead to end the quarter.
The Jazz inserted all three of their injured players (Okur, Boozer, Kirilenko) to see if they could make a run, or even a dent in the Magic's lead. They succeeded in keeping the lead static, but that was about it. CJ Miles came off the bench in the second and made a good contribution in the meantime. The Magic still held a 12-point lead going into the locker room.
Gordan Giricek led the charge to get the Jazz back into the game, and eventually gave the Jazz the lead by scoring 12 consecutive points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer to make it a 1-point Jazz lead midway through the 3rd. The Magic made a small run of their own to push their lead back to 8 points by the end of the quarter.
Derek Fisher and Deron Williams continued to be ice cold from the field and the game was blown open a bit while they were running the guard positions. The Magic ballooned their lead to 14 while the Jazz continued to struggle without their prime frontcourt healthy. Gordan Giricek was re-inserted and he and Collins made a mini-run to try to get back into the game, but the Magic stood strong and cruised to the fortunate victory.
Magic 115 - 103 Jazz
