Paul Millsap

You know, the more I watch footage of Millsap from the RMR, and the more I see his stat lines from the preseason, the more I think LHM was right. The guy was an absolute steal in the draft and could be contributing as early as THIS YEAR. Even his defense is better than almost all of the 4/5 players on our team. Not to mention he is an excellent rebouner (give him 25 minutes per game and he'll give you close to 10 boards).

What do you think of him?

Re: Paul Millsap

I think with the right guidence he could be a Ben Wallace type player. by that I mean someone who is undersized, but uses athleticism and heart to make it. I think he will be in the rotation this year, and will probably be a key player for the Jazz, especially if Boozer gets hurt. I said this over at JH, I think he will be the cause of many Boozer trade rumors thought-out the season. Him playing hard and playing defense will pretty much force Sloan to play him.

A Ben Wallace type player is an elite shot blocker as well... Millsap has aboslutely NONE / ZERO Potential for that. Great rebounder though.

an elite shot blocker is guys like kirilenko, Zo, hakeem, Eaton, Camby, ect. I gave names from the NBA now and NBA past. Ben Wallace is not an elite shot blocker, he is decent, not elite. We already have an elite shot blocker on our team, so millsap being a great rebounder is great right now, he also showed signs in stretches for having potential of being a better scorer than Wallace.

His career is 2.2 BPG, that is not elite compared to the likes of Hakeem, Eaton, Mutumbo, Robinson, Shaq, Ewing, ect. You want to see elite shot blocker, check out Kirilenko's blocks when he puts in 10 years in the league. You're underrating the tearm "elite".

...Way to know your numbers. Wallace is an above-average shot-blocker. He is by no means elite.

Samuel frikken Dalembert is a better shot-blocker.

Re: Paul Millsap

Milsap would be more of a Rodman type player than a Wallace type player.

Rodman was a very active player for the Pistons. I think Milsap is more athletic, so at best he'll be a Rodman with more steals and offensive game.

Of course, he could just go all out with his rebounding thing and be another Michael Ruffin.

Re: Paul Millsap

best case scenario = Reggie Evans with a little more offense = MLE level player.
