Wow. This may be the best game of the year so far, from a W-L record standpoint.
It should be a barnburner!

I've read somewhere he's going to miss the next three games.
Anyway, he said the ankle is still swollen but not bad. I think he's not going to play tonight, but he could return against Phoenix on Saturday.

Re: Game 8: Jazz vs Clippers
i looked up deron's gamelog, and it seems that the jazz's success depend on him not turning the ball over...seems obvious, but let me explain...
the two teams that gave the jazz the most trouble, have been the pistons and the nets...teams with good defensive pgs... in deron's matchup with chauncey, deron had 5 turnovers, and in spite of that, the jazz won by 2 points...against the nets, he was matched up against jason kidd, and he committed 5 turnovers, and they lost...the rest of the teams that the jazz beat, did not have a great defending pg like the nets and pistons...in the jazzs' 5 other victories, deron only averaged 1.8 turnovers per game...
i think the game tonight will be determined by how well the clippers pressure deron...with qross and livy being excellent on the ball defenders, i think that they will be able to bother deron enough to get the W...
thoughts?

Re: Game 8: Jazz vs Clippers
Deron Williams does not get enough respect in these forums. The nets outplayed the jazz, I think it doesn't have a lot to do with deron's turnovers. The pistons game wasn't close until the end where the pistons made the run, but the jazz held them off.

deron gets my respect as he's a good player, i was just analyzing the numbers...i'll take your word on deron's performance, as you have seen him play more than i have, that's why i asked for your(utah fans') thoughts...i've only seen about 3-4 jazz games(this season via league pass)...

The jazz have had games where 6 and 7 players were in double digits. Team game is more helpful to the success than individual. The jazz have just been playing good, the nets game was the first time the jazz didn't score under 100 points. Hold the jazz under 100 points this game and you win.

i have a feeling that's going to be rather difficult to do, especially in your house...the clippers have lost 32 of the last 34 meetings in utah, or something like that...the hope i have is the clippers' defense...their defense has been winning games, and if the offense comes around, we might have a chance...
