Trade Idea: AK-47?
Any of you guys think AK-47 would be moved if a good offer came along?
I know the Jazz are doing really well, but he seems to have taken a back seat this year and he's got a big contract. Would the jazz consider trading him off for a cheaper guy who might still help them out?

Re: Trade Idea: AK-47?
I don't think they would, AK has been doing the same thing, just hasn't been needed for a majority of the scoring. Last season he had to score because we didn't have Boozer playing. Now that we have Boozer, AK has been the same monster he has been on defense. He has a very long streak of getting at least 1 block in a game. He still gets his 4-6 blocks every now and then. I am sure he will average over 3.5 bpg, could even go up to 4 bpg.
AK has good stats, but he is a better player than even his stats show. He makes a big difference on the defensive end. The Jazz have a bad record the last 3 years when AK is not playing. When AK is going good on the defensive end, he fires up the team on both ends of the court. Nothing is more exciting that AK getting multiple blocks in a game and altering a lot of shots causing players either to hit a tough shot, or miss a layup trying to create too much to get by AK.

Re: Trade Idea: AK-47?
Considering the variety of AK-47's tools, there's no way to get anything remotely akin to equal value for him. He does so many things on both ends of the court that in order to obtain anything worthwhile for him would be something along the lines of 3-4 four players who each excel in an aspect of the game. And that's not likely.

Re: Trade Idea: AK-47?
I think any trade offered for AK would probably not be a equal or decent enough to move him.
He's expensive and been injured a bunch. At this point he's worth more to the Jazz than any other team.

This says what I wanted to say.
Except for a physical specimen like Yao, AK is probably the most irreplaceable player in the league.

Re: Trade Idea: AK-47?
One more thought.
Boozer and Okur would both be significantly greater liabilities on the defensive end if AK wasn't there to bail them out.
They are both extremely lucky to have Deron and AK on their team.
In another situation, they might have nice stats, but they wouldn't be winners.

Re: Trade Idea: AK-47?
The Jazz are one tough SG away from being a contender. I don't know if the jazz could get a top SG out of the league by giving up AK. But I think management are too attached to AK to trade him. AK does so much, even when his stats are down for a game.

Re: Trade Idea: AK-47?
So he's the ultimate glue guy?
Still, suppose the Bulls offered, I dunno... Andres Nocioni (not the freakish athlete AK is but a better shooter and a tenacious player) and PJ Brown's expiring contract?

i wish they'd trade him somewhere where he gets more than 4 shots a game for my fantasy team, but honestly they can't lose his defense.

Re: Trade Idea: AK-47?
I wouldn't do it. Kirilenko is still only 25 years old, has a VERY rigid offensive game (as in, not honed at all), his defense is excellent, and we have him contracted for another 4 years after this season.
I'd be stupid to throw him away. He fills just about every hole this team has when he is not on the floor, as far as shot-blocking, inside passing, guarding the other team's best player... etc.

I have to admit, that's what I want too
Well, I would like to see him on the Bulls as well- imagine a Ben Wallace / AK-47 / Nocioni or Deng frontcourt - can you say sick?
