Jazz Player Consistency
For those of you that saw the formula I came up with in the NBA Forum, for Average Standard Deviation (or, easier said as the consistency of a player), I'm going to keep it updated for all Jazz players. The categories counted are the ones they perform best in between points, assists and rebounds.
Note: A player is not included in Standard Deviation if he has less than 7 games with 15 or more minutes played in his last 10 games, and games with less than 15 minutes played are not counted. All values listed apply to the 10 games prior to their current averages.
Rating is (1 - combined ASD%) x Total Efficiency.
1. Carlos Boozer +20.22 Rating
ASD: 22.9% Points, 20.4% Rebounds
2. Deron Williams +13.31 Rating
ASD: 26.6% Points, 31.1% Assists
3. Mehmet Okur +12.34 Rating
ASD: 27.6% Points, 34.3% Assists
4. Andrei Kirilenko +10.35 Rating
ASD: 26.8% Points, 36.6% Rebounds
5. Matt Harpring +6.61 Rating
ASD: 32.2% Points, 28.9% Rebounds
6. Derek Fisher +6.44 Rating
ASD: 30.0% Points, 33.3% Assists
Gordan Giricek, Rafael Araujo, Dee Brown, Roger Powell, Jarron Collins, Ronnie Brewer, CJ Miles, Paul Millsap all do not qualify.
I guess by putting these two together, you could really assign the "best player" thing to the players based on their rating. I'll keep this up occasionally and see what happens during the course of a season.
