Second Buyout This Season Coming Soon For Jalen Rose?
12th January, 2007 - 5:57 am
New York Daily News -
According to the New York Daily News, Jalen Rose is expected to get a buyout from Phoenix in upcoming weeks.
Rose's time with the Suns has not gone as planned, with the versatile forward stuck deep in the team's rotation. He received a buyout from New York earlier this season, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent.

Re: Jalen Rose?
Once he does get bought out I bet he returns to Michigan to team with Fab Five teammate Chris Webber. As long as it becomes official that webber does indeed go there.

Re: Jalen Rose?
Jalen Rose will not be bought out for the second time this season. The Suns look at Rose as a KEY VET coming off the bench during the playoffs. The NYC repoarter has no idea what we is talking about. Besides, even if Rose wanted to be bought out, he would be an idiot to walk away from a winning team with the best chance to win a Championship. The Jazz have the least chance to win out of the Top 5 Teams of the WEST. Mavs, Suns, and Spurs are tied for the best chance, Everyone else, then the JAZZ. Trust me, I grew up in Utah and watched the Stockton and Malone ERA come and go. IF the JAZZ had any shot at winning the Chamionship it was the only 2 years that they made it to the Finals. Other then that, they are at best a good WESTERN Conference team.

Wow.... That was very well put, but I completely disagree.
Remember the old cliche, "Offense wins you games, but defense wins you championships."
Teams play series in the playoffs... If you play the same opponents for so many games in the row, you can make adjustments between each game to ensure victories. What kind of adjustments am I referring to? They are all defensive ones. When your team is 80% offense and 20% defense playing against a team 70% focused on defense.... winning 4 game is much tougher than you think.
Do you recall last year playoff? PHX against a balanced Lakers and then against a more defensive-oriented Clippers. Both series went to 7 games.....
Take what you will from those series, but Utah stands a great chance in the playoffs.
Honestly, the ONLY problem I see is the fouling. Why in the world are the Jazz fouling so much???

This cliche is so old, and makes no sense in the NBA today. If this was true then every team would be the Pistons or Spurs, but NO most every team is trying to play like, WHO??? THE PHOENIX SUNS... Besides if "Offense wins you games" then the SUNS only need their offense to win 16 Games in the playoffs.

FYI, most teams TRY to play like the Pistons and the Spurs, but they can't get there because it's too hard to assemble a squad for it.
Why does Houston Rockets give up a high draft pick for Shane Battier? ... because that gives them DEFENSE. Houston is ranked 1st in defense right now, and they are winning games WITHOUT Yao (their biggest offensive threat).
Of course, PHX will probable kill the Rockets tomorrow because the players are too old and slow, but it'd be very different in a 7 game series. Do you honestly think PHX can sweep the Rockets?
Yes, more teams try to be like the Suns because it's easier to practice for it. Practice with a 14 second shot clock. Why not practice with a 5 second shot clock? Start running down the court before your team get the rebound!
Can you practice Piston-style or Spurs-style defense? LOL...
I think you get my point. I just don't think your initial statement about Jalen is correct since Utah has an equal chance in winning the ship this year.

Re: Jalen Rose?
I personally don't think Salt Lake City is the right environment for Jalen Rose.
