Okur an All Star!
Mehmet Okur (and Ray Allen) were selected by David Stern as All Star replacements today. While Deron Williams definitely deserves to be an All Star, so does Okur, who has been clutch this season. Since Iverson will miss the game there's still an outside shot that Deron will be named, but it seems more likely that Stern will name the one-dimensional Zack Randolph instead...

Re: Okur an All Star!
I find it strange that they replaced a guard with a center. Good for Okur though.

There seems to be a serious lack of PG's on the Western roster. Parker and.....

Re: Okur an All Star!
Is he really an all-star? He wasn't voted as an all-star, so isn't he just a reserve? Lets say he makes another all-star game, and gets voted in this time, is he a two-time all-star even though he only got voted in once?

Re: Okur an All Star!
yah he's really an all-star, reserve or not. Congrats to Mehmet, this should draw ratings over in Turkey.
Deron got robbed but he's young and will be an all-star for years to come.

I'am from Turkey and i can't describe you how happy we are.Mehmet deserves it.Last year he deserved it too. This is one of the biggest things for Turkish basketball history.I imagine that the announcer screams "for the first time in nba history a Turk plays for allstar team!!!".

First, welcome to BBF.com! Will there now be a live Tirkish broadcast of the game? I can only imagine how huge it is by you.

Re: Okur an All Star!
I hate typos... I remember the first time I heard about Turkish basketball was when Anthony Mason was playing for the Knicks, after having played professionally in Turkey.
