Ronnie Brewer

why does he suck???
i mean actually he doesnt but even when he Plays he never gets the ball at all

its like they ignore him

he is a legin 6'7 220 and an excellent athete
he knows how to play D both on and off the ball
and he can play some PG....

honestly I think he might be one of the 5 best players from last years draft..

Re: Ronnie Brewer

hes too inconsistent for sloan, hes a rookie so he didnt get much time. He'll get to show his stuff next year, and when he is in the game he usually gets one or two baskets.

Re: Ronnie Brewer

Why does he suck? Umm.. he doesn't.

I personally think his defense is better than anybody on the team except Kirilenko. His FG% is very high because he plays around the rim and can actually finish. I have no idea why they don't just start the kid at the 2 guard because Fisher sucks, and has been sucking and losing games for us the last two weeks. Not to mention Fisher is going to get dominated by McGrady if Sloan decides to start him... which he will. Sloan should do what's best for the team and start Brewer or Giricek, instead of being a stubborn idiot and starting Fisher when he's obviously costing us games and a liability on BOTH ends of the floor.

Re: Ronnie Brewer

I would love to see Ronnie on a more uptempo team; I think he'd absolutely thrive. Like fjkdsi said, he's 6'7, 220, a ridiculous all-around athlete, tenacious on defense, aggressive going to the basket, can handle and distribute, and seems to have great intangibles. The only thing he's really missing is a legit outside shot. I still can't believe Orlando passed on him. I don't see him getting bummed about the lack of p/t, I think he'll use it as motivation to improve.

I was a huge fan of him before the draft and still am; I think he has Eddie Jones/Larry Hughes potential in him.

Re: Ronnie Brewer

ya he was one of my favorite players in the NCAAs

it seems like the Jazz have some really weird luck in the draft

i honestly thought that Snyder and Humphries would be a lot better than they were

I think it's more that the players don't mesh with Sloan than it is the franchise not getting good value out of their picks.

Actually, Ronnie is already a good fit here, and the Jazz are a good team for "tempo". They are not the fastest of teams but they can run when they get the opportunity. Besides, Brewer's best asset is his ability to attack the basket and he's on a team that lives and dies by points in the paint. Not to mention Sloan harps on people for defense constantly and Brewer is a fine defender by all NBA standards.

Every team runs when they get the opportunity. Utah's scoring at a decent rate this year, but I wouldn't describe them as having a predominantly run-and-gun style. That's who I'd like to see him with.
