Re: Utah's biggest neead next season
how about a good defensive center??? seems like that was their only weakness last season...
someone who can clean the glass and be a defensive presence in the paint alongside boozer...
not talking about an allstar, someone in the mold of a diop, or a varejao...
someone who can fill in at the 5 for about 20-25 minutes per game to give the jazz more defensive pop...
just my opinion, but i'm sure jazz fans know more than i about this topic...

Re: Utah's biggest neead next season
Seems like a good suggestion. That would probably mean a FA signing though, rather than drafting a youngster.

Re: Utah's biggest need next season
An elite help defender to replace Kirilenko (who will be elsewhere) and make up for the poor man defense of Boozer and Okur.

Exactly. A big man shot blocker would help. As tall as Utah is, they don't have a traditional shot blocker to guard the rim, as San Antonio showed over and over again.

A catch & shooter, and a defensive big.

Re: Utah's biggest need next season
Can they package AK and get Jermaine O'Neal?
I think JON would actually fit very well with Jerry Sloan's system.
Two guys that could benefit from one another but aren't compatable with just anyone.

Re: Utah's biggest need next season
I'm not sure how well O'Neal's attitude would work on Sloan's patience.

Eh. It's the NBA.
JON's attitude isn't so bad compared to others he's no doubt dealt with.
Sloan might get on his nerves a little, but the team would be winning, so that erases most of those issues.
JON would be a good fit on the court for them, and the salaries are easy to match.
Hmmm... I wonder if Indiana can do better for O'Neal or if they even like Kirilenko at all.
