Yes, still missing Fish, the Jazz could still benefit from his maturity and leadership. I believe Derek's smarts and mentally tough play is something the Jazz will miss, especially in games where an opposing player goes off: TMac, Kobe, Arenas, etc.
It was an exceptional scoring night for the Jazz and shooting percentages were the best we've seen in quite some time, however, the Jazz didn't have much defense, again. Despite the fact that it seems Sloan's allowing the "young guns" a little more leash (at least so far) this year, I hope they don't hang themselves with it.
Although I'm not a huge Sloan fan, I do like his no nonsense approach and demands for execution and defense. This Jazz team will thrive if they can find a balance between up-tempo play and half-court execution, but not without some defense.
