Re: Fesenko?
I think Utah got a steal when they drafted him, he might not be ready to contribute constantly right away, but he should be in the near future. Very active big man, kind of like Andris Biedrins, except that his fundamentals are a bit better. It's always risky to draft an international prospect big man who hasn't played in a good league, but he flew a bit too much under the radar before the draft.

Re: Fesenko?
I am very, very excited to have Fes on our team. He definitely was a steal as a bottom of the 2nd-round pick.
His fundamentals around the basket are great. He's a good scorer around the basket, a good defender, and a wonderful rebounder. The thing that really impresses me is his speed for a 7-footer. The guy is as fast as the wings on the floor but has a good 6 inches on all of them.
Right now his biggest disadvantage is just not knowing the NBA game. He gets a lot of 3-second calls, misses assignments on defense, and tends to violate the "in the cylinder" rule every once in a while.
He's got a lot of ability, we just need to wait for his experience and time on the floor to catch up and round him out. He's a very decent big and, like I said, very agile, and hustles a LOT.

Re: Fesenko?
He's a nice energy big, but I don't see potential. The dude got a lot of baby fat, and isn't that athletic, but he's got good enough ball IQ on offense. Solid 2nd round pick, but he's still the last big man you want on the floor for Utah. COuld come in a contribute in a pinch.

Re: Fesenko?
Yeah, he probably doesnt have a lot of potential, but he's a big man who plays with a lot of energy and can mix it up in the paint. He'll definitely find a niche in the league

Re: Fesenko?
If he's bright enough to learn from the front-court Utah has, as well as Sloan (of course), he could have a nice long career as a solid rotation big man - off the bench.

Dude, with the team that has Jarron Collins on it, any athletic big is better to have on the floor.

Didn't seem that athletic to me. But maybe it's just that I'm programmed to think white guys with European names aren't athletic,

I saw him playing in the RMR here in Salt Lake, and that kid is FAST for a 7-footer. Athletecism isn't necessarily always jumping high, so I'm not sure exactly what his vertical is, but for a guy of his size he is noticably quick.
