Utah Jazz Offseason 2003
Here is a plan for your team.
Don't resign:
Carlos Arroyo (never showed much)
Mark Jackson (too old, too slow)
Calbert Cheaney (if Maggette comes, no reason to keep him)
Scott Padgett (not quick enough to play 3, not strong enough to play 4)
Tony Massenburg (takes up roster space)
Sign:
Corey Maggette-another athletic wingplayer, good scorer/defender
Samaki Walker-a lot of people hate him, but if you give him playing time he is a solid rebounder. Would be very cheap
Rick Brunson-not a spectacular player, but he could steady the ship if Lopez takes a while to come around. Would be very cheap
C-Borchardt/Ostertag
PF-Walker/Collins/Amaechi
SF-Kirilenko/Harpring
SG-Maggette/Pavlovic/Stevenson
PG-Lopez/Brunson/Williams
If Borchardt turns out to be ok after his surgery, and Lopez and Collins both stay healthy, you could easily contend for a playoff spot.
