Sloan Signs Extension Through Next Season

The Jazz have announced that coach Jerry Sloan has signed a contract extension through the 2010-11 season.

It will mark Sloan's 23rd season with Utah. He is the longest tenured coach in American professional sports.

I'd argue that his style has changed in several ways throughout the years. Take 3pt shooting for example. In 1998-99, with Jeff Hornacek and Bryon Russell among the league leaders, the Jazz only put up a total of 388 attempts. Last season, they put up 1122, though their shooting percentage was actually lower than a decade before. (.361-.349)
