If by "make the playoffs" you mean "not make the playoffs", then yes.

Nope, but as Chad Ford said "If Kirilenko makes a Nowitzki like jump, the Jazz might not be in as much trouble as everyone seems to think."
The Jazz will more than likely be one of the bottom three teams, but nothing less was to be expected after losing Stockton and Malone. The FO in Utah unfortunately never made a commitment to finding replacements for S&M, so they will suffer in the short-term..

what are the chances of AK making a Dirk type jump though I love AK and think hes the man in Utah but Dirk is one of the best shooters in the game and not just for his size. I think if AK needs to work on any part of his game he needs to put on some weight and get a money jump shot.

No, it seems to me that with all the picks they are trying to acquire, that they will not even try to put together their best lineup, but instead give the rookies a development year, and then go nuts in the lottery.

If they make a couple minor trades, sure they can make the playoffs....
Utah trades: C Greg Ostertag (5.4 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 23.8 minutes)
Utah receives: C Jason Collins (5.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 23.5 minutes)
SF Richard Jefferson (15.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 2.5 apg in 36.0 minutes)
PF Kenyon Martin (16.7 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 2.4 apg in 34.1 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +32.5 ppg, +13.0 rpg, and +5.3 apg.
TRADE ACCEPTED
Utah trades: C Keon Clark (6.7 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.0 apg in 22.3 minutes)
Utah receives: PG Steve Nash (17.7 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 7.3 apg in 33.1 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +11.0 ppg, -2.7 rpg, and +6.3 apg.

PG: Steve Nash
SG: Matt Harpring
SF: Andrei Kirilenko
PF: Kenyon Martin
C: Jason Collins
