Hey maybe we don't suck!
Although I can't say that I'm fully convinced yet, it's hard to believe that this Jazz team is as bad as advertised.
So far, we've played 4 very tough teams. We're 3-1.
We've gotten consitent contributions from many young players, we're playing hard, and we're playing good defense. If we continue this, I see no reason we can't win 35 games this year.
Keep it up guys!

We are EVERYBODY's pick for worst in the league. If we get over 25 wins Slaon should get it. According to all the previews, we are complete no-hopers. I hope no-one forgets this when we end up with a respectable total.
Trouble is, we might be shooting ourselves in the foot lottery-wise. There would be some advantages to getting 17 wins. If we do get 35 or so we can kiss a decent pick goodbye and risk not improving much next year.

i agree
i'm happy to see utah win...but...
the next draft will not be as deeper as this one
utah need a franchise player, harping is okay and kirilenko will be good but they're not leaders
someone who makes people around him better (sloan is one )
someone who can take over a match
utah will have a lot of cap space next summer but in my opinion will fail again to attract a talented player
and we have too few things to trade
so lottery will be very important next year...
this is just the begin of the season, ohers have plenty of time to progress and beat us for our good
some wins will at least make our young guys better...

Utah's a smart and discipline team. They are very underrated. If the jazz were in the east theres no doubt that they would make the playoffs. Jazz is alot better then the bulls or miami

You guys were certainly my pick. I figured you'd be a tougher opponent than Atlanta, but as far as records go, I figured you'd easily be the worst. I'd consider giving Sloan the COY award just for this opening week, to be honest.

The Jazz have always been good at playing team ball and now that they have no all-stars, that philosphy is paying off.
Gotta have much respect for Sloan. As far as coaches go, he is the real deal.

I have said it before and I'm pretty sure that Sloan is making a miracle right now. It's funny how Sloan only gets the credit he deserves when his team is one of the worst on the league.

Yeah, though it's only 4 out of a long 82-game season, the Jazz are making me feel so much better. I took a lot of crap about praising Utah as a playoff team within the next 3 years, even without Stockton and Malone, it's not even funny. Great job by everyone from Coach Sloan to the last man on the bench, so far.
I still hope they win plenty of games, miss the playoffs, and luck out with a top 5 draft pick. But hey, wishful thinking, huh?

I am almost hoping it doesn't last.. we need a big man for the future, and I think we're going to have to get him through the draft.. but we still do have almost 30 million in cap space for next year. KG to Utah! Well.. maybe not..

Yes, I totally agree. I wanted us to suck last year as well as this year. 35 wins is nice, but not as nice as Emeka Okafor wearing a Jazz jersey for the next 15 years.....
Didn't he just sign a fatty contract extension?

yep
30 million could bring more than just 1 good player.
