I know he played in NBA and I would like to know how good he was , what he did well or not .. Considering how demanding he is , I'm sure he was rather a tough defender and sort of a coach's player ,a man that does all the little things that help to make the team better. Do you know If he won a title? Coach Sloan receives lots of props nowdays and I'm sure he deserves it. I like his old-school behavior and moreover , I highly praise his knowledge of the game. I doubt that any of you guys actually saw him play but... may be you grandfather?

Sloan was as hard-nosed a player as you'll ever find.

He was tough as nails, a gritty defender...he'd get into defender's faces and minds...very frustrating...

He and Norm Van Lier took the likes of Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West to a couple of very grueling seven game series. He wasn't flashy or anything, but that was the first team that showed that hustle and heart could win basketball games.

Thanks for mentioning Norm Van Lier Sovereignz . I had never heard of this player .he was named to the All-Star Defensive Team eight times and is fifth in all-time assists for the NBA *. Here is a man that could tell us many captivating stories related to the history of the league.

Sloan was not only a great defender, he had a really quick first step, and was a no-nonsense type of player. He should have been on the right team, and could have been a difference maker on a championship caliber team.
